The Prophet
The Prophet - Kahlil Gibran Whew, this was such an incredible and such a wonderful ride filled with so many different beautiful emotions. There aren't that many books that you can truly fall in love with, but, my friend, this book is definitely one of those books, for the author's reflections within it are nothing short of amazing. Some of them will make you shed tears of joy, some of them will make you smile, and some of them will remind you of your past memories, your present hopes, and your future dreams and desires. You'll definitely love it, for there's so much love, so much inspiration, so much knowledge, and so much wisdom in it, some of which you can truly learn from and some of which you can teach to others or share with others, the ones you care about and love. It's true that this book is short, but the author truly said and wrote everything he knew about faith, love, death, time, life, prayer, and many other vastly important things in all of his beautiful reflections. I strongly advise you that you get yourself a copy, read it with a peaceful mind, put it on your bookshelf, and read the author's truly timeless reflections every once in a while. I have no doubt that your life will change and transform in a truly beautiful way.

The Prophet by Michael Koryta
The Prophet - Michael Koryta

A compelling thriller concerning two estranged brothers who have taken different paths to deal with a shared personal tragedy....forced to come together when a young girl is murdered by someone out to test their limits.
Koryta nails the personalities of the brothers, their troubled relationship, and how they deal with personal loss flawlessly. And keeps the suspense on high burn, creating a thriller that will keep you guessing....with an ending that strikes hard and true.

Highly recommended thriller by one of the best in the business.

entertaining
Death Makes a Prophet - John Bude

A wry look at a group that we would now refer to as pagan but then was simply dismissed as a cult. The Children of Osiris and the members of it, who range from the egotistical to the fanatic and all the shades between. I recognised several of the people from groups I've seen. When two of the members die, the simple conclusion is too simple and doesn't fit all the facts.

Entertaining and a wry look at fanatical groups and those that exploit them.
