Now he is back to the USA and he meets the girl whom his brother wished to present to him as a surprise... and his fiancée. "12 Day at Bleakly Manor" by Michelle Griep

My Thoughts.....

This was quite a interesting story of Christian historical romance and mystery during 1850's holidays in England. I liked how this author brings to the readers some really intriguing characters during the '12 Days at Bleakly Manor' that had a particular reason for being at this location. Be ready for a fast paced, fun, quirky read with a Gothic and mysterious setting with some great descriptions given and even a little bite of danger.

What happens when Clara Chapman who was once from a well to do family, rejected by her father and later by her fiancé now found to be poor living with her Aunt Deborha receives a cyptic invitation?

"The Twelve Days of Christmas
As never's been reveled
Your presence, Miss Chapman,
Is respectfully hearld.
Bleakly Manor's the place
And after twelve nights
Five hundred pounds
Will be yours by rights."

Who was Benjamin Lane who had been in prison for stealing and is to be deportation to a labor camp from another country. Now what on earth does he have to do with all or this? Well, as the reader continues to read we find that Benjamin believes he was been betrayed by someone he once had loved and that he was also innocent of all of this mess he had been accused of. What will happen when he receives the same invitation to Bleakly Manor that 10 others had received? Now, what will Ben be promised?

Will Clara and Ben [the two main characters] who had some huge misunderstandings be able to work through it all out just be able to come to a better understanding of it all?

I enjoyed how this author was able to bring in the Christian elements [with trust and faith elements] in this very realistic story that will keep you turning the pages to see what was coming next in this story that was of 'second chances and choosing between revenge ad forgiveness.' I did notice that the '12 day of Bleakly Manor 'started on December 24th and ending January 5, 1851 which I thought was somewhat strange but as I was reading I get this idea from the author was done for a particular reason.

This was quite a interesting story after all is said and done. To find all of the answers to the above questions and so much more you will have to pick up this good read that has so many twist to see it's a good story of second chances and redeemed love. This is definitely one of those stories that will keep one guessing until the very end! Even though this novel is around Christmas holiday, I found that it's the kind of read that one can be read at any time of the year.

My Thoughts.....

This author has done it again and that is giving the readers another good read.  This story was of Zariah [educated, strong & intelligent] and Vassili [Russian MMA fighter, Alpha] that was off the chain being a well written story that will keep ones attention to see what was going on next between these two. How will these two survive from this instant attraction be able to fit into each others lifestyle? These two characters will keep you on a emotional ride due to the fact that both of these two were so very 'strong will and determined' and let's not leave out the hot chemistry that flowed heavily between them.  I will say at times I did question Zariah's reactions toward her father in regard to what all had happened to her mother and brother.  Be ready for lots of drama, humor,  mystery and oh my that romance!  Will Zariah and Vassili be able to whether the storms that seems to always be around them with some deep family issues along with some their racial backgrounds?  I was so happy to see this story ended with a HEAFN leaving the reader to know there will be 'more curveballs to come' along with some unanswered questions to be answered.  Thank you to the author for another good read!

"Pieces of Happiness" by Anne Ostby

My Thoughts ...

This author really give the readers quite one interesting read..."Piece of Happiness." I thought is was really one good read having these six people, five that had been friends since high school in Norway come visit and then live together [after the death of her Niklas, her husband] on a cocoa plantation in Fiji in the South Pacific with each one having there own story that was really intriguing to say the least. Oh, the sixth woman was Kat's housekeeper...Ateca who was so very understanding of each of these ladies. I loved her prayers for God to watch over everyone as the prayers seemed to 'mark the change in the chapters and even the narration from each of the women.'

I loved the invitation that was sent to each one of these ladies who were know in their sixties....

“I’ve planted my feet on Fijian earth and I intend to stay here until the last sunset. Why don’t you join me? Leave behind everything that didn’t work out!”

Will they be able to 'leave their worries, mistakes and problems back in Norway?' No, they hadn't stayed in touch but know would they be willing to start all over and 'come up with plans of a new future in this beautiful cocoa plantation?' How different this would be for these ladies who had difficulties of their own to come to this beautiful place that had much to offer with many highs and well as lows but in the end the readers will give one good story that will give one reason to ponder long after the read. I loved the characters...Kat, Ingrid, Maya, Sina and Lysbeth who all had 'secrets and hopes that had been keep hidden' so will they be able to stop and redefine just what they wanted in their life now? Will they be willing to rediscover their past friendships and even themselves?
All while I was reading this novel I keep thinking what would it be like to have friends like these!

This was definitely a wonderful and enjoyable read about a enduring 'friendship and second chances just to be happy' that I would definitely recommend. In the end all that is left to say is that hopefully we can all have this in our lives. This story was very well done by this author.

Secrets She Keeps
Secrets She Keeps - Amarie Avant,Supahkawii Covers,Rebel Proofing

Title: Secrets She Keeps Author: Amarie Avant Publisher: Prism Heart Press Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: "Secrets She Keeps" by Amaie Avant My Thoughts.... Who would have thought as Reese Dunham is visiting her friend at a dive bar she would encounter the likes of a 'druggie' Riker when Detective Evan [Tino] Zaccarro[undercover cop & alpha] notices that someone [Riker] has slipped a mickey in her drink? Now, what will come of this will definitely keep your attention as you read through this well written story that had lots of drama. What will this bakery owner do as Evan [the man in a suit] comes to her rescue? There will be a lots of secrets and lies that are interwoven into this read of many twist and turns. I loved how this author brings it all out to the reader as one will see from the read these are 'true soulmates' but will they be able to get to their HEA when all comes out? I found most of the characters [Reese, Evan, Jamie, Sandra, Tony, Lolita, Riker,Tyrone, Milo, Salvatore] to name a few were a rather colorful group...but Reese's mom Lolita was another story with all of her selfishness that was off the chart...horrible. I did find the read slow starting but yet very intriguing that does pick up its pace giving the reader a little bit of it all from 'dirty cop with ties to the mob, crazy mom, biker gang, the Russian Mob to Italian Mob' taking the reader to a real interesting ride. As the explosive secrets and lies start coming out and I don't want to leave out the hot steamy sex that this author is well noted for having in her well told stories, and in the end the reader does receive a completed well plotted story of a good suspenseful mystery romance. Would I recommend? YES!
