As Kismet Would Have It by Sandhya Menon
As Kismet Would Have it - Sandhya Menon

The sweetest little read!
This one takes us back to Dimple and Rishi. It picks up where they left off and you finally get the answer to the biggest question asked.... if they will marry!
I'm not gonna spoil that for you though.
Read this intense little story and find out for yourself! Also, get introduced to the characters in the next book!

As Kismet Would Have It
As Kismet Would Have it - Sandhya Menon

I could not get excited about a short story with two 19 year old teenagers deciding about whether to get married someday.

This whole thing read as forced as anything.

If the author had aged them up by 5 years then I could have seen them having the “talk” about their future. Instead this short story made me dislike Rishi and I felt like the author changed up Dimple too in order to get to this HEA.

  Dimple and Rishi, Book 1.5

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series

The Characters:

Rishi:
Dimple:
Ashish, Sweetie, Sunita (mom), Kartik (dad)

The Story:

I’m not sure why this is book 1.5 when it happens after There’s Something About Sweetie. Anyway, this is a look back to Rishi and Dimple’s relationship. They come to an impasse, a turning point that there will be no return from.

The Random Thoughts:

The Score Card:

3.5 Stars

An Unseen Attraction by K.J. Charles
An Unseen Attraction - K.J. Charles

This was well written, of course, given the author.  But I found it rather dour and dull, at least until near the end. Too literary for me I think. The next one sounds much more fun, so I have preordered it.

Kismet’s Kiss by Cate Rowan 99 cents! and on Kindle Unlimited.
Kismet's Kiss: A Fantasy Romance (Alaia Chronicles) by Cate Rowan (2014-06-08) - Cate Rowan

In a realm of burning sand and scorching sun…

Relentless warrior Sultan Kuramos has never faced a battle he couldn’t win—until now. His famed skills with a scimitar can’t defend his realm against a deadly epidemic. Not even his best physicians can defeat the scourge. To save his people, he’ll do something he’s never done before—bend his pride and seek aid from the magical Royal Healer of his greatest enemy.

Healer Varene has heard of the Sultan. Who hasn’t? The enmity between his realm and hers is the stuff of legend. And, despite his people’s fierce condemnation of magic, she doesn’t hesitate to aid them. She is prepared for the sultan’s well-known arrogance—but not for his courage, his subtle kindnesses, nor his selfless care of the ill. But some in his realm are displeased with her presence. The arrival of the “heathen sorceress” ignites a ruthless plot to overthrow him and nearly gets her burned at the stake.

As they work side by side to find the cure, Kuramos’s fierce protection of Varene gains her trust, then her respect, and then an emotion neither dares to admit—love. Kuramos is determined to keep the one woman who speaks to his soul, whatever the cost. But how can either relinquish their homeland and their principles to be together? Especially since the patients Varene has been healing are Kuramos’s wives…
