We have lived with the threat of this site disappearing for quite a long time. I'd just like to ask you if there any other book communities that aren't co-owned or completely owned by Amazon? Don't get me wrong. I shop from Amazon. If I didn't I'd get very few books. I'm just wondering. Goodreads is owned by them. LibraryThing is co-owned, isn't it? Litsy is owned by LibraryThing, isn't it? I have an account on Libib, but that's hardly the same thing. If this site vanishes I'd like to find something at least remotely similar.

I just got the great news, that Booklikes isn't being shut down. That's wonderful. Awesome. I'm so glad. It seemed to be nearly impossible for me to find anywhere as good. Apart from the social bit, Libib is fine and I kind of liked Leafmarks (but now that will gone soon) and Riffle and LibraryThing. Well, actually, there was a time when I really liked Goodreads too, but that was a long time ago.

As my friends may know, I've been having a bit of trouble with my other blogs as well. No need to get into the details again. If I can get my homepages (self-hosted wordpress sites) working again, I'll stick to them (and naturally Booklikes) and hope that people will still visit.

Also, my sister and I are going to try Ghost. Has anyone tried that? If so, did you like it? How did it compare to Wordpress and Blogger? (or Livejournal and Tumblr, which are other platforms I'm familiar with).

Now what? Does anyone know what to do with it?

I don't suppose anyone knows of any other book community that allows e-books and books in languages other than English? Even Libib that will sometimes allow me to add books in Swedish and French (which is what I have at the moment, apart from books in English) sometimes doesn't recognize a non-English book even though I have the ISBN number. It also doesn't allow e-books.

I forgot to mention that I'm on Libib too, if anyone wants to friend me there.
