In Dare to Hold Carly Phillips takes us into the lives of Meg and Scott. If you’ve been following the series then you know Meg is Dylan’s best friend or used to be anyway up until he fell head over heels with Olivia. Since, Meg has become close friends with Olivia and now probably hangs out with her more than she ever did with Dylan.

Meg is in a difficult situation. She’s pregnant and her ex is nuts–as in crazy. He wants her to have an abortion but she wants to keep the baby. Her ex is afraid that his parents will disown him and make Meg’s baby their heir.

Meg always falls for the wrong men and now that she’s pregnant with her worst nightmare’s baby she’s determined to right all the wrongs in her life. When Scott, Olivia’s brother, decides to step in and help she hesitates. He’s handsome and not a man like the ones she’s used to dealing with. She accepts his help because it’s not like she can get rid of him. Scott is there whether she likes it or not and there isn’t much she can do about it to make him go away.

Soon her fears become a reality. She starts falling for him but she knows Scott is just a temporary person in her life. He isn’t signing up for marriage, daddy, or diaper duty. Or so she thinks, until he makes it clear that her pregnancy doesn’t bother him in the least and what she thought was a fling becomes a permanent fixture in her life.

Carly Phillips’ unique style shines again in this installment. She gives you a little bit of everything. Hot sex, a hot hero, and a lot of conflict. What’s not to like?

Dare to Hold is the sixth book in Carly Phillips Dare to Love series, and this reader just can't get enough of this series and the Dare family. From the moment I picked up the first book in the series, I knew I would be hooked. Oh and let's just say...I was really excited to read Scott Dare''s and Meg Thompson's HEA.  If you read the previous book you would've been introduced to Meg and Scott towards the end.
Meg is the female character who has had it rough from the beginning, due to the guys she has hooked up with in her past. She feels she'll never meet a nice guy. She's now pregnant with her ex-boyfriend's baby and she feels skeptical of what the future will hold with another man. She also wants to live her life without any help, and she'll do anything to prove it to her friends in her life. She'll even prove it to the one man who would do anything for her.
Scott Dare is what you call the gentleman of the Dare of the family. He's a police officer who has a heart of gold and doesn't like seeing anyone hurt. The minute he meets Meg, he wants to protect her from everything and anything out to get her…especially her crazy ex-boyfriend.
He knows she's pregnant and he knows it won't be easy, but he will do anything to prove to her, he's not like the other guys she's been with.

Be warned though, Scott is the alpha male in the story. He is very PROTECTIVE of who he cares for and he will resort to anything to help others. Yup….he will do anything, which means some drama comes into play other than Meg's ex-boyfriend drama.  I adored Scott every bit in the story. Meg tended to drive me batty at times with her not wanting help. I could understand why she wanted to protect herself, but darn it Scott definitely is that white knight she definitely needed.
I could go on and on about how much I loved Scott in the story, but don't want to give away all of his qualities. =)
Readers that enjoy contemporary romance books that follow a family that definitely have their own drama, but deserve every bit of happiness…this is the series for you.   Each book can be read as a standalone due to how Carly writes each book.  You won't get lost at all. I definitely recommend though, reading in order. You'll loved to follow each and every one of the Dare family members on their road to HEA. There may be even another HEA in Dare to Hold that Carly mention, which I believe this person definitely deserves just as much as happiness as everyone else does.
I give this book 4 stars and look forward to reading the next book in the series when it release late this summer. If you haven't read this series yet, you'll definitely missing out.  

Loved it! Scott is an alpha male with a dirty mouth who knows what he wants and goes after it - until his past gets in the way and threatens to ruin his relationship with Meg. Meg is not in the market for a relationship, but the attraction between her Scott is impossible to resist. It was great seeing both of them work through their issues and develop feelings for each other as the story progressed. Another great addition to the Dare series - can't wait for Avery's story!

We first met Meg Thompson in Dare to Touch. After her unstable ex, Mike, pushed her and she landed in the hospital and almost lost her baby, Meg meets Scott Dare when he's the policeman who takes her statement. Immediately these two are drawn to each other. Meg is determined to stand on her own two feet after a long string of unhealthy attachments to men, including Scott's sister Olivia's husband, Dylan. Scott on the other hand is determined to protect and take care of Meg based on his nurturing ways.

Scott comes to Meg's rescue one night at a bar and agrees to take her home. She tells him her friends just wanted her to find a one night stand to enjoy before her pregnancy starts showing and of course Scott is more than happy to offer his services! What neither of them ever thought was how explosive they would be together. Afterwards, Scott is determined to be with Meg for more than just one night.

A week later Scott shows up at Meg's place just after Mike ignores the restraining order Meg has against him. Of course Scott is in full protective mode. While Scott is protecting Meg, their feelings continue to grow until Scott reveals a big secret from his past. This causes Meg to withdraw. Meg and Scott both need to overcome damaging events from their pasts in order to move forward into a future together.

The way these two interacted with each other was perfect. Scott could determine what things Meg needed emotionally or physically at just the right times and she did the same for him. Sexually they were explosive!

Their happy ending was just wonderful and I can't wait to see more into their future.
