Entertaining Contemporary Romance
Fearless - Carly Phillips

Fearless is a great contemporary romance by Carly Phillips.  This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time.  Ms. Phillips has delivered a well-written book and furnished it with great characters.  Kane is a mechanic with his own garage in Rosewood Bay.  Halley is an almost recluse artist.  Kane and Halley's story is loaded with drama, bits of humor and sizzle.  Halley is a bit angsty, but not so much to ruin the story.  I enjoyed reading Fearless and look forward to reading more from Carly Phillips in the future.  Fearless is book 1 of the Rosewood Bay Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Dream - Carly Phillips

Andrea "Andi" Harmon is Kane's little sister and we finally get to read her story. Now divorced, Andi has been trying to provide a good life for her 8 year old son, Nicky and all she cared about was keeping him away from his abusive father. Why Andi had to fall for the bad boy quarterback in high school, she'll never know. Too bad she didn't realize just how bad he was until it was too late. Because of her ex, Andi lost her best friend, Kyle Davenport....something that she regrets everyday.

Guess who just moved back to Rosewood Bay? Yep, Kyle. He is now Nicky's teacher. When Kyle realizes that Nicky is behind in his reading level, he asks Andi to come up to the school to discuss it. Yep, the old chemistry is still there....too bad Kyle never told Andi how he really felt about her all those years ago....things may have turned out differently.

As Kyle and Andi start to spend more time together, Kyle decides this time he isn't giving up. He will give 100% to get Andi to see him as something more than her old best friend. And boy does he! Andi really had no chance! Of course just when these two have broken down all of their walls from the past, the past comes roaring back in the form of Andi's ex, Billy. This time it will take both Andi and Kyle standing up for themselves so they can finally get their happy ending.

I just loved Andi and Kyle. You can't help but root for two people who are so genuinely nice and good. I also adored their happy ending. It was just perfect!

Dream (Rosewood Bay #4) by Carly Phillips
Dream - Carly Phillips

Carly Phillips inspires women with empowering tales, courageous, characters and heart-aching romance. Get ready to begin again with Kyle and Andrea. They were meant to be, but failed to see their chance the first time around. Can years of longing, hard living and an abundance of heartbreak finally point these lonely hearts in the right direction? Dream encourages us to move forward when the past seeks to hold us back. Andrea found strength in fighting a losing battle with her heart, her ex and the mistakes she made along the way. Pride left her with regret, but forgiveness brought her more happiness than she ever dreamed of.

Surprise
Freed - Carly Phillips

This is the 3rd book in the Rosewood Bay series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader enjoyment & understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

Juliette comes to Rosewood Bay to meet the sisters she never knew she had.  She meets Braden right away and they click immediately.  The attraction burns bright on both sides.

Braden is tasked to keep tabs on Juliette, and he has no idea how to tell her.  Her father and her past is quickly going to ruin the great start they have.  Braden must convince Juliette that they have a future and its worth it.

This was a sexy sweet combo in one book.  A great addition to this series, the story starts with serious heat that just burns all throughout the book.  I loved the banter and the very real subject matters.  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Freed - Carly Phillips

Freed is the third book in the Rosewood Bay series and we finally get to meet the unknown sister, Juliette Collins. Phoebe and Halley Ward knew they had a younger sister but have not been able to find her ever since Juliette's dad took her away. What they didn't know was that she was living a very privileged and sheltered life in New York City. When Juliette finds out she has half sisters and that her dad kept that news from her she is livid. Juliette then decides she is taking her own life into her own hands and travels to Rosewood Bay to get to know her sisters.

What Juliette didn't expect was that Phoebe and Halley are wonderful people and she is so excited to be a part of their lives. Juliette also didn't expect to find a man that she is strongly attracted to, but Braden Clark becomes that man. Too bad Juliette doesn't know that her dad hired Braden to watch over her. While things heat up between him and Juliette, Braden starts to feel guilty about working for her dad. As Braden helps Juliette navigate taking control of her own life, he is quickly fall hard for her and she for him. What seems like a perfect relationship quickly turns into something horrible when Juliette's dad shows up. It takes an act of faith, and some family love for these two to get to their happy ending.

I liked Juliette. Even though she was sheltered her whole life, she still had the will to take control back and it was fun seeing her do many things that others do younger in life. I really loved Braden. He was so sweet and loving and yet sexy at the same time. I really loved how he was with his dad too! Such a hard story line, but he dealt with it the best way he could. I also loved the little sneak peak at Andi's story! I can't wait to read it!
