Captivated
Captivated (The Donovan Legacy) - Nora Roberts

I was not captivated, DNF at 10 percent.

I was hoping for a long satisfying romance read and this was not it. The book moved so slow and I could not take the main heroine, Morgana Donovan, seriously. She's a witch, living in Ireland, as one does apparently. When she started talking about meditation and looking into her scrying ball (I probably spelled it wrong, who cares) I was over it. I can take magical realism and science fiction, but this book just read as not very realistic fantasy. I also thought the hero's name was laughable bad (it's Nash Kirkland).

So there you go. Moving on.

Captivated (The Donovan Legacy) - Nora Roberts

I am so bored by this book. It’s about to go back to the stacks.

Reading progress update: I've read 5%.
Captivated (The Donovan Legacy) - Nora Roberts

Well apparently we are back to magic and witches. This reads as very outdated.

#FridayReads--April 3, 2020
The Book of Koli - M.R. Carey
Captivated (The Donovan Legacy) - Nora Roberts
Under an Alaskan Sky - Jennifer Snow

Trying to get through "The Book of Koli". I don't like it. I think I may be DNFing this thing soon.

I also started "Captivated" by Nora Roberts which is dry and doesn't even read like a Nora Roberts book. So looking 0 for 2 on Friday reads.

Next up will be "Under an Alaskan Sky". I loved the first book in the series, so can't wait to start this one. If not today, will definitely be reading this over the weekend.

We Need a Little Christmas
We Need A Little Christmas - Sierra Donovan

Liv's returned to her hometown for her grandma's memorial. She reconnects with Scott, a guy from her childhood. Her job is in Dallas and she hasn't been to her hometown for 4 yrs.
I liked the 1st book, but this didn't have that magic. It starts slowly and really never picks up. I admit to being a bit bored. I had a hard time understanding why Liv was gone for 4 yrs. She had a good relationship with her family. She didn't have a job that required lots of call or weird hours (she was a personal organizer). I thought it was strange. I just didn't "get" the romance between her and Scott. I did like the mystical aspect (the heater that would randomly quit and start working- even when off and the ornament).
