Release Day Blitz - KINDLE WORLD - Dare To Love

Dreaming Up A Dare by Catherine Gayle

Hockey star Jackson Maddox and gymnast Pepper Winters have been best friends since childhood…
Just friends.
When Jackson needs a date to a prestigious party, he calls upon his petite and dazzling BFF to be his arm candy for the night. Nothing could be better than walking into a room with Pepper on his arm. Jackson won’t ever admit how he really feels about her, because they’re…
Just friends.
With her gymnastics career over, Pepper welcomes a chance to let her freak flag fly—especially with Jackson by her side. Pepper can’t confess she’s loved him since childhood. He’s her best friend, and there’s no reason to jeopardize what they’ve got. But they’re still…
Just friends.

But when a seemingly harmless game of Truth or Dare gets a little too close and entirely too personal, can Jackson dream up a dare that could give them both what they really want?

Do You Dare by Chris Keniston

Billionaire businessman Chancellor Winston can pay for anything he needs…or wants. When his college buddy, Ian Dare, challenges him to experience how 'normal people' live by posing as an employee at the South Florida resort Chance's company just acquired, Chance can't resist. But having it all doesn't mean he knows it all.  Undercover and in over his head, Chance is learning money can’t buy everything—especially love.

Single mother Faith Gifford is walking on eggshells.  The resort where she's the Head of Housekeeping has sold.  Sweeping changes are coming and her job might be on the chopping block. When she meets the new management trainee, the attraction is palpable and the heat undeniable. He's even great with her young son. Faith is falling fast, but when Chance's secret comes to light, will it prove to be the one bridge they can’t cross?

Daring to Win by Jami Davenport

One day away from living on the streets, former pro football player Jake Hudgins has sunk to an all-time low. When he's offered a job in a fledging program to transition athletes at the end of their playing careers, he jumps on it, even though the offer was made to the financially-sound man he'd once been, not the broke one he is now. Taxed with being a good example for young athletes, Jake is a fraud, and his co-worker is suspicious.

Aggie Hermann has come to terms with never being a size 6 or even a size 12. She's made peace with her body and avoids men who see women as objects instead of looking deeper. Her new coworker, Jake, appears to be the superficial variety, and he has a secret. Aggie's certain of that, even as she struggles with the irresistible attraction between them.

Working closely together to get the job done ignites Jake and Aggie's passion until the resulting fire is sure to burn them both. Can their love survive the fallout when Jake's secret is revealed, or will it be reduced to ashes?

Dare's Wild by Parker Kincade

Hotshot tight end Tanner Wild gives new meaning to the phrase play hard. Living the high life in Los Angeles, he blew through clubs and women as fast as he took down a defensive end—until his antics off the field landed him on the chopping block. A wild card no team was willing to play, save one—the Miami Thunder, his hometown team.

Out of options, Tanner returns to Miami, bitter in the face of the ramifications brought on by his own behavior, not to mention the memories of his high school sweetheart. The only woman he’s ever loved. The woman he spent the last ten years trying to forget.

Realtor Abby Nash thought she’d seen the last of Tanner Wild the day he dumped her for the greener pastures of college women. When her boss makes a sudden and not-so-subtle request that she help Tanner find a house, years-old heartache boils to the surface.

But when she sees Tanner the explosive chemistry between them is too hard to resist. Even after ten years, he knows just how to touch her. How to make her forget the past and yearn for the future…a future doomed to repeat history if she can’t learn to trust him again.

A Dare Without Regret by Wendy S Marcus

Ryan Monighan is one of the most popular players on the Miami Thunder Football Team. An all-star running back, he always makes time for his fans. They want a picture? He smiles pretty. An autograph? He’s always got a marker handy. Sex? If she turns him on, then heck yeah! Too bad the only thing sexy, sassy Kiley Ivers wants from him is the one thing he will not do for a fan. And she won’t take ‘no’ for an answer.

Kiley Ivers is barely keeping it together. After losing her family in a tragic car accident, she’s left alone to run the family bakery and care for her thirteen-year-old nephew, Tyler. The sole survivor, he’s stuck in the hospital, depressed and in pain. And Kiley will do anything to get his favorite football player to stop by for a visit to cheer Tyler up. Even go out on a date with him.

When things heat up between them, Kiley is on board with a short fling, as long as Tyler doesn’t find out. She plans to be a respectable guardian for her impressionable young nephew. Unfortunately, nothing in Ryan’s life stays secret for long.

Dreaming Up a Dare by Catherine Gayle
Dare To Love Series: Dreaming Up a Dare (Kindle Worlds Novella) - Catherine Gayle

If there was a Hockey Hall of Fame for Hockey Romance Authors, Catherine Gayle would certainly be inducted.  Dreaming Up a Dare is another amazing book that I did not want to end.  Hockey defenseman Jackson Maddox and ex-gymnast Pepper Wilson had been best friends since they were kids.  Both are attracted to the other but neither ever make a move for fear of jeopardizing their friendship.  After a few too many drinks they play a game of Truth or Dare, and feelings for each other are revealed.  This contemporary sports romance takes place in Miami, Florida.  It is suitable for new adult and adult audiences.

I love the easy-going relationship Maddox and Pepper have.  It is obvious they have been friends forever.  The two are complete opposites.  He is huge, an extrovert, and dark haired. She is tiny, introverted, and blond.  They know how to egg each other on and challenge each other.  I loved both characters.  I know this book is a part of the Dare to Love – Kindle Worlds Series, but I wouldn’t mind if Maddox was traded to either the Portland Storm or Tulsa Thunderbirds, so we would continue to see their characters there.

I appreciated how Maddox was looking out for Pepper and introducing her to people that could help her form a new career.  I like how Alex Dare was worked into the story.  This is the first book that I have read in the Dare to Love Series.  I am curious to read a few more after being exposed to this world.

Dreaming Up a Dare
Dreaming Up a Dare - Catherine Gayle Dreaming Up a Dare - Catherine Gayle ARC Review: Dreaming Up A Dare (Kindle Worlds: Dare To Love) by Catherine Gayle

Catherine Gayle picked a plot line that romance fans are familiar with and gave it her own author makeover. Pepper and Jackson's progression into more than friends is enlightening, sensual and sensitive. Ms. Gayle took me right over that cliff with this adorable couple. The way Jackson looked after Pepper was a romantic fantasy come to life and who knew innocent Pepper had a kinky side. What I liked most is that despite the sexy game of Truth or Dare, time and distance and career achievements and or disappointments, this duo always look out for each other. Dreaming up A Dare checked all the right boxes for me.

Review: Carolina Dreaming by Virginia Kantra
Carolina Dreaming: A Dare Island Novel - Virginia Kantra

http://witandsin.blogspot.com/2016/02/review-carolina-dreaming-by-virginia.html

Two endearing characters get a shot at happiness they never thought they’d have in Carolina Dreaming. In this fifth Dare Island novel, Virginia Kantra manages to deliver a romance that’s incredibly sweet, but never edges into saccharine territory.

Gabe Murphy is a hero who has been through hell – an abusive home, war, and then jail. Despite all this, Gabe has never broken. He arrives on Dare Island because it’s the home of his best friend and he has nowhere else to go as he tries to put his life back together. Dare Island is like a dream come true for Gabe. Though people are wary of him, they give him a shot to prove himself, which is more than Gabe expects from anyone. Gabe’s past and the way he’s been treated broke my heart, but I loved watching him find a life and a home for the very first time. Best of all, Gabe finds love with bakery owner Jane Clark. Jane’s life hasn’t exactly been easy either. She escaped an abusive marriage and is now a single mom working hard to make a life for herself and her son. Jane has a huge heart and is a soft touch, but she’ll go to the mat to defend those she loves, which makes her a great heroine. She and Gabe just click right off the bat, and it’s easy to be swept away by their romance, which is by turns sensual and sweet.

I have a weakness for small town romances and Carolina Dreaming is a lovely one. Ms. Kantra’s writing style is so smooth that you slip right into the story without noticing, which made the story all the more enjoyable. Dare Island isn’t an idyllic small town (that kind of perfection would be boring), but it’s close enough that you wish it were real so you could move down there. Fans of series will love revisiting some of their favorite characters, but for readers like me who haven’t read the first four Dare Island novels, you needn’t fear – this book can easily be read as a standalone. Of course, I was so hooked by Gabe and Jane’s story that I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. If you enjoy quietly romantic stories with genuinely kind characters, you won’t want to miss Carolina Dreaming.

FTC Disclosure: I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Carolina Dreaming (Dare Island #5) by Virginia Kantra
Carolina Dreaming: A Dare Island Novel - Virginia Kantra

Carolina Dreaming (Dare Island #5)

After escaping a disastrous marriage, bakery owner Jane Clark has convinced herself that she has everything she needs—her precious son, a thriving business, and a roof over her head. But the arrival of a handsome stranger on the island shows her exactly what she’s been missing...

The only home Gabe Murphy ever had was the Marine Corps. He's working hard to rebuild his life. It will take a special place, and a special woman, to make him want to stay.

Now Gabe is determined to prove that he's worthy of Jane’s trust—and her love. But when her past reappears, that trust will be tested, and Jane and Gabe will have to fight hard to hold onto their love and make their dreams a reality..

My Review:

I thought the book was sweet, I liked the characters and I enjoyed the happy ending, but I'm kind of burnt out on return home military hero romances like this.

My Rating:

4 Stars
