Well, these were free today so despite my trying not to download so many freebies ...

I did avoid the ones with book descriptions not readable without a lot of "read more" scrolling so — you know the ones that the synopsis says things like the actual screenshot below:

This was free today for kindle and had been on my list of series to checkout for quite a while.  It's short at 225 pages.  I expect it to be a mix of cozy mystery, paranormal, and chick-lit.  Okay, so partly the two cats caught my interest.

I had shelved it as "sampled must buy" and only just now have been organizing my shelves.

Bonus—it took me so long to start revisiting my shelves that the entire series has finished publishing.

Just downloaded this first book (with more of series already published) based on a friend's recommendation.  Currently free for kindle.

Sounds like I'll like the main character if the story isn't too much like too many other UF/PNR books.
