Reading progress update: I've read 19 out of 284 pages.
She's Gotta Be Mine - Jennifer Skully

This is one of my freebie downloads, from back when I was way less picky about freebies. I wasn't expecting much, but the writing is actually pretty snappy and fun. My only problem so far, which has the potential to balloon into something massive and awful, is the way Bobbie, the heroine, is dealing with being left by her husband.

During their marriage, she caved and did whatever he wanted. Now, she's determined to rub his face in what he's missing, and she seems completely unaware of the fact that every one of her choices still has his stamp on them, if only because she's choosing the exact opposite of what he'd have convinced her to choose when they were together. I hope she eventually realizes what she's doing and breaks free, and I hope it doesn't take 200+ pages.

Play by Kylie Scott Review
Play - Kylie Scott

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl.

Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

Review

Mal is a wonderful, funny character. I loved him. He is manic and charming. He is great drummer. The music focus in this book is grand. I think he became more simplified as the novel went on and that is kind of sad. I liked Anne and her many conflicts. The conflicts between the two were less interesting as was holding out on what was bothering Mal for too long a time despite the promise he had made.

All in all, I read this romance in one sitting. Yummy potato chip romance.

I am not at all interested in reading about the super jerk lead singer but I will read the rest of the series. :)

Love
Love - Beth Boyd

Title: Love
Author: Beth Boyd
Publisher: The Most Romantic Books

Review:

"Love" by Beth Boyd was a sweet contemporary romance. I did find it somewhat predictable read, however, it still was a good read. The characters were all well developed especially the 'boy next door' ... with Adam and Karen being such believable and all in this very descriptive seaside London, England country. I found this romance for these two very 'heartwarming,' captivating read, and enjoyable read. Be ready for every day problems...along with meddling family, a artist, a writer, misunderstandings, truthfulness, playful times, less not leave out all the drama and love then you will have one lovely romantic read with a quick ending. If you are in for a good sweet romance then I would recommend "Love" to you.

Book Review of REBEL by Elle Casey
Rebel - Elle Casey

Why haven't I read Elle Casey before? Where has she been since I started reading ebooks a few years ago? Well, apparently everywhere. Elle Casey releases a book every few months, so the fact that I haven't read her before is all my fault :) After reading REBEL, I am just so, so, so happy that she's so prolific and that I have a huge blacklist to dip into.

This book is funny. So funny that I'm actually laughing just thinking about it. It's a perfectly done riches-to-rags-to-hotsexyman fish-out-of-water story. After her father dies and she loses her fortune, Teagan needs a job and a place to stay, but she has no experience and no idea of where to go. So she promptly goes to the "wrong side of the tracks" and forces herself on poor Rebel's car/muscle/repair shop, Rebel Wheels (yeah, I know about as much about cars as Teagan does, does it show?) How she gets her job, how she decorates/fixes/protects her apartment, how she makes friends...all of it is nonstop hilarity. You know how some books have those "great moments" where everything comes together seamlessly and creates this perfect, unforgettable scene? Well, this entire book is like that.

Teagan is a delightfully scatterbrained mess. Though she fails constantly throughout the story you never get the idea that she's weak--she's just (understandably) inexperienced and way out of her comfort zone. Teagan always does her best, and whenever life knocks her on her ass she gets back up with a smile, determined to come out on top. There are a few times in the story where Teagan shys away from things that she's (understandably) afraid of, but in the end she always does the right thing. Seeing Teagan grow stronger and start to discover who she was and what she wanted was wonderful. (And funny, have I mentioned yet that this book is funny??? lol)

This whole book could have just been Teagan's coming of age story with no romance and I would have been happy (and there aren't many romances I can say that about), but her character and journey is really complimented by the hero's. The hero and the heroine in thsi story couldn't be more different. Rebel is a strong, stoic, self-made man who never lets himself let loose and never shows his emotions. Rebel really doesn't know what to do with Teagan, or his attraction to her. There are a lot of misunderstandings in this story but none of them are painful or go on for too long. They're either really funny or they set up a chance for both characters to come together and understand each other better.

It's hard for me to find any flaws in this book. Maybe there are a few, but I don't care. I loved it too much! 5/5 SMOKIN' HOT CARS!

A Week to be Wicked by Tessa Dare
A Week to Be Wicked - Tessa Dare

This book reminded me why I love historical romance. I don't recommend it to those looking for a very subdued, historically typical romance. However, if you want something fun, funny, and unique, then look no further!

This book has some of my all-time favorite tropes done to perfection. I LOVE stories about the rake and the spinster. I love these stories even more when the rake is likeable and the spinster actually seems intelligent. Tessa Dare goes one step further by giving the rake a very sympathetic reason for needing the companionship of a woman at night, and giving the heroine passion for a cause and genuine insight (and it's just great that this woman's passion is rocks). Minerva must carry a gigantic rock all the way to Scotland to share her findings with the Royal Geological Society, and decides that Colin should be her escort (she decides to ruin herself for science!) The two fake a relationship/elopement and take off on one of the funnest and funniest road romances I've ever read, and since I LOVE road romances, that means a lot

This book is so much fun. The banter between the hero and heroine had me laughing uncontrollably. The secondary characters were people I actually liked and enjoyed learning about. Just remembering this book puts a smile on my face :) In fact, it's been a while since I read it (I read it when it first came out), so I think I'm due for a re-read. 5/5 stars!
