"...and to all a good night!"

Sylvia L. is a German-born artist and designer who did a number of illustrations for one of my books and has branched out to do greeting cards that are now sold in retail stores and museum shops in the US and Germany. I've been asking her for a long time to do some book-related illustrations or cards and she finally agreed.

Here is her first book-themed card, made specifically for Booklikes, that shows her favorite models Chapman and Lily wondering what to do with a printed book from Santa. It's always a pleasure to see former colleagues go in new creative directions. Best of luck to her and a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season to everyone here at Booklikes!

For more info, click on the illustration to go to her old website, which is in the process of being upgraded for release in January 2014. She has promised more book-related cards to come soon and is already getting some advance orders from independent bookstores.

Greeting Cards
Greeting Cards - Tinnean As a lot of people know, I am a huge fan of this author. She never fails to make me fall in love with her books. This is another book I absolutely adored, but it was a bit short, so I decided to go with four stars. I don't read a lot of Christmas stories, but this one was definitely cute.

Ben's boyfriend, Rick, left him after eight years together. Trying to find out why, Ben sends him a card with the address he was given for him. Instead of it going to Rick, though, it went to Jason. At first they start sending hallmark cards, but eventually things progress. It was very cute.

I loved the relationship. I loved most of the characters. Rick, well, he was an ass. I would have liked to have gotten the chance to see him get his own heart crushed. He was just... Not a very nice man. I hope he gets his comeuppance some day.

Anyway, this is another great story from Tinnean. I can't wait to read more of her work, and I hope to read more from her soon.

Greeting Cards - Tinnean I'm having a really hard time with this one, I feel torn. There were aspects of this book I really liked but there were parts that left me feeling slightly annoyed, conflicted. So I guess I'll just sum it up by saying for me this book was not a huge hit, I loved the Spy vs Spook Series and had hoped that I would enjoy this story as much, I didn't but still it had some enjoyable moments.
