Day 29 - A book everyone else hated but you liked

There has been more than one, but Lisey’s Story by Stephen King stands out the most. I remember avoiding this book because it was so hated. I sincerely don’t understand the reaction now that I’ve read it. For starters, it’s one of the most emotional and deeply felt books he’s ever written, and it’s also one of the scariest. Not since It has a book kept me up like this one did. Seriously, don’t listen to those people with short attention spans. Try this one. It’s beautiful.

Day 13 - Your favorite writer

I don’t like these “pick one” things. I read enough that of course I have more than one favorite author. So let me at least do a top four. With a couple of my favorite books of theirs listed, as well.

  • Stephen King (It, Lisey’s Story)
  • Kurt Vonnegut (Slaughterhouse 5, Mother Night)
  • Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho, Imperial Bedrooms)
  • Tanith Lee (Tales of the Flat Earth, Volkhavaar)
