Stones circle, witches dancing naked and barrier between dimensions. 

Barrier between other world is thin in some areas and stones circles were put up as barrier for things to get through. 

So when crop circles appear on unlikely places, Granny Weatherwax is on the case. 

Young witch Magrat is dating the king of Lancre Verence. She is waiting for his proposal for marriage and surprised to find out he went ahead to prepare for their wedding without asking her. So, she is going to be a queen and learn about queeny things to do. 

Really young witches of the modern variety wear black velvet and lace gloves. They have no respect for old witches that has no sense of fashion beside practical like Granny. They do things they don't understand like dancing naked under moonlight near the stone circle, which lower the barrier between worlds further. 

What started out as a mystery going into an adventure, throwing in quantum and multiverse theory, adding witch and king and queen and bees and it is a fun ride of a story. 

Enjoyed this a lot. Going to read the next one.

And this is being explained by quantum theory, multiple dimensions and such. 

Oh my goodness. This is so much fun.

The young witches are with the black candles and lace gloves. They did witch-y thing without really understanding it. So they made the barrier thin and there is gap between worlds. Elf are not nice and know how to glamour people. So when the barrier is thin, they could get to the human world. 

And the wedding and being queen and king. This is not traditional way of thinking of things. Enjoying this so much but reading slowly.

Granny Weatherwax meet with Ridcully from Unseen University. 

The writing is humorous as usual. There is strange magical happening with crop circle. And a witch is going to be queen for a very small country when she marry the king. 

What can go wrong?

Now, this one really is a no-brainer.  The one Discworld subseries I'd like to spend some time in is the Witches -- simply because any place that includes (and listens to the opinions of) Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlick just has to be worth looking into.  And I guess being ruled by a Duke who has had his moral frame of reference and his sense of decency shaped by being the former ruler's fool (and butt of his jokes) can't exactly hurt, either ...
