The Adventurers Guild series
The Adventurers Guild - Zack Loran Clark,Nick Eliopulos,Johnny Heller
Twilight of the Elves - Zack Loran Clark,Nick Eliopulos
Night of Dangers - Zack Loran Clark,Nick Eliopulos

I listened to the first book in this series last summer and loved it. But I never got around to continuing the series. Last month, one of the girls at school told me that I had to read the second & third books because she loved them. I was able to borrow the audio of book 2 (Twilight of the Elves) but the third wasn't available in audio from the library. I loved the audio so much that I bought book 3 (Night of Dangers) from Audible.

This series is amazing and I loved it. It is a magical tale that emphasizes friendship and the importance of trust in the middle of a battle between the apprentices, monsters, and tricksters hiding in plain sight. In order to survive and win, the apprentices must come together and use their strengths to save each other and the town of Freestone.

The books are full of adventure, danger, compassion, and twists and turns you won't see coming. If you enjoy middle-grade fantasy stories, I predict you will love this series!

Boy X - Dan Smith

Audience: Middle Grade

Format: Hardcover/Library Copy

Light.
Bright. White. Light.

- opening words

Twelve-year-old Ash wakes up in an unfamiliar room with an IV in his arm and no memory of how he got there. As he searches for his mom, he discovers he has abilities that are beyond normal, hearing, vision, sense of smell. He witnesses people trying to escape in a helicopter and being shot down. He finds Isabel, who helps him find his mother and her father, but they are infected with a virus that could destroy the world’s population. Ash & Isabel race against the clock to stop the men who stole the virus and find the cure for their parents.

There is violence in this book including shooting, knives, and physical fighting. There are scary animals all over the island that Ash & Isabel encounter. Isabela is smart and capable and helps Ash navigate the jungle, even as his senses warn them of approaching danger. There is a lot of suspense and action that will appeal to kids. Isabel is a great example of a strong female heroine.

ABC Adventures: Magical Creatures - Mikey Brooks Illustrated and written by the talented Mikey Brooks, this book was a whimsical foray into the world of fantastical creatures that we dream about from the time we are children. Beautiful illustrations with vibrant colors and accompanying rhymes that flow off the tongue. I was very happy to read this to my own boys. Nicely done, Mikey!

Rick & Wylie's Fantastical, Magical Adventures (Journey to the Kingdom)
Rick & Wylie's Fantastical, Magical Adventures (Journey to the Kingdom) - Andi Katsina I was quite hesitant to read this book because it was so long. It took me about 3 weeks to finish this. I'm quite disappointed at myself, I haven't taken this long to finish a book in ages.

Rick & Wylie's Fantastical, Magical Adventures is a book about a father and is daughter who go on vacation at Hawaii and experience something very magical and adventurous.

I found the book alright, it kind of feels like a children's book at the beginning because of the way it was written. It felt like it was ment for parents to read to their children before bed. Everything in the book was very detailed, from everything around them to the magical creature that appear. They magical creatures were very creative and i absolutely loved them.

The only flaw I saw in the book was that it was a bit too long. I as a reader tend to drift off from the book as I read because it's too long and too detailed and I sometimes tend to find it a tad bit boring.

The cover looks great. It shows all the magical animals and creatures mentioned in the book. It's very creative and it's a book that I would pick up from a book shelf in a store.

In conclusion to my review, Rick & Wylie's Fantastic, Magical Adventures is a good book that I would recommend those who love reading about fantasy adventures.

51/50 The Magical Adventures of a Single... 51/50 The Magical Adventures of a Single Life - Kristen McGuiness Even though this book isn't that long page-wise it seemed to drag on and on. If I would have known that all 51 dates that Kristen goes on are written out in detail I probably wouldn't have read this book. I found the parts about her childhood interesting, but I just couldn't get interested in her 51 dates. I'm sure writing this book was therapeutic for her, but it just wasn't a book for me. I probably wouldn't recommend this book to anyone I know. I do applaud Kristen McGuiness on her journey to get sober and stay sober though.
