MY REVIEW
I loved the first book in the series, Joshua and the Lightning Road and was very excited to get my hands on Book II, Joshua and the Arrow Realm. These magical children’s books are highly entertaining for all ages.
Twelve year old Joshua and his friend Charlie were having a great time sledding…until the Lightning Road brought the Mystery Girl. Who is she and what does she want?
Joshua and Charlie are not ordinary kids. They are older than their years and have traveled to magical realms, battling evil. Joshua is able to talk to animals. Nifty talent to have that comes in very handy.
Now…they are off on another adventure, taking the Lightning Road back to Nostos to save their friend, Sam, the King.
They will travel through trees that come alive and could stomp you into a pancake, battle birdzilla with razor sharp claws, cadmean beasts with red eyes, and fire breathing foxes.
They eat some odd food…dried squirrel mash and ache cakes…MMM, yummy.
Magical lands and fantastic characters, myths and legends, the Gods and Olympians, the Oracle and Joshua. Is he the one to make things right? Others believe it is so.
I am excited to be back in Donna Galanti’s magical world of adventure, friendship and loyalty. The main characters stand tall as they race through the pages proving time and again that together they can accomplish what seems impossible.
I received an ARC of Joshua and the Arrow Realm from Donna Galanti in return for an honest review.

Pip Bartlett can talk to magical creatures, and they talk back to her. Unfortunately, no one believes her. After a magical creature incident at her school, her parents decide she should spend the summer with her aunt. Aunt Emma is a veterinarian for magical creatures, so Pip isn't too disappointed about going.
Pip is 9 years old and her favorite book is a guide to magical creatures. Here is a picture of Pip from the book:
Along with the picture of Pip, throughout the book, there are pictures of different magical creatures which will really appeal to kids. Other characters in the book include Tomas, Pip's friend who is allergic to everything and a bit of a hypochondriac; Regent Maximus, a neurotic unicorn who is afraid of everything; Bubbles, a grouchy Miniature Silky Griffin; and a bunch of Fuzzles who are constantly setting things on fire.
Pip is determined to find out why the Fuzzles are suddenly appearing in town before Mrs. Dreadbotch from the Supernatural/Magical Animal Care, Keeping, and Education Department (S.M.A.C.K.E.D.) finds a way to get rid of them permanently.
This is a Grade 3-5 Sunshine State nominated book. I predict the kids will love this one. :) I read it in a couple of hours and really liked it.

Grades 3-5, readers who like fantasy, adventurous girls, and cuddly creatures.
Of Ice and Air is an amazing fantasy novel with a cast of characters to love and hate and critters and worlds that stretched my imagination. Carlie Cullen has the ability to spin a tale that captures me in its web, unable to break free. She is an author that has a prominent place on my must read list.
I love letting my mind run free, to live in the fantasy of odd creatures and magical abilities that make all things possible. I rode the Blenorai with her, over the ice, through the Lost Mire and the Silent Forest to the Land of No Souls.
The adventure is long and treacherous, fraught with danger. She fights, surviving with the help of magic and her animal companions, the Blenorai.
Carlie Cullen creates strong characters and original worlds that awe and amaze. Her heroine will fight bloody battles against man and monster alike. Kailani is a warrior princess in every sense of the word.
The ending seemed a bit abrupt, but I can live with it. The story is finished and I got the ending I wanted. How can I be upset with that? I think I feel this way because I did not want the story to end. I love a book that makes me want more…more…more.
I received an ARC Of Ice and Air by Carlie Cullen in return for an honest review.
