The Ocean at the End of the Lane - audiobook
The Ocean at the End of the Lane - Neil Gaiman

Audience: Adult

Format: Audiobook/Owned

It was only a duck pond, out at the back of the farm.

- first sentence

Neil Gaiman's voice is amazing. I loved listening to him narrate this story. Basically this story is about growing up and how at seven years old, adults seem so big and important, yet disconnected from childhood. The narrator of the book is an adult who is remembering an event that occurred in his childhood (when it is so much easier to believe in magic and monsters).

I enjoyed the story and especially the narrator's childhood friend, Lettie Hempstock. It was a quick listen and had some creepy parts. It is interesting how much differently we see things as adults compared to how it seems to children.

I read this for Booklikes-opoly Pandemic Edition, space #19 as a book whose cover is more than 50% blue.

HP & The Order of the Phoenix - audiobook
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Book 5 - J.K. Rowling,Jim Dale

Loving my re-read (listening) to the entire Harry Potter series. I guess I've seen the movies more recently so I've forgotten some details of the books. I love rediscovering things as I read. I'll be moving on to book 6 after a bit of a break. :)

Warrior's Curse - audiobook
The Warrior's Curse - Jennifer A. Nielsen,Jesse Vilinsky,Michael Curran-Dorsano

Audience: Young Adult

Format: Audiobook/Owned

Winter had come, bringing harsh winds that cut like knives through my cloak, the land frozen beneath my feet each morning and continuing to chill, even when the sun rose.- opening line

The final book in the Traitor's Game series. This book doesn't disappoint. It's an amazing ending to a fabulous fantasy series. I loved Simon and Kestra and how they changed and grew throughout the series. Will they be able to defeat the evil Lord Endrick and is there any way they can even be together??

If you like YA fantasy, read this book!

Goblet of Fire - audiobook
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Book 4 - J.K. Rowling,J.K. Rowling,Jim Dale

Book 4. I was flying through these, but now I feel like I need a break. Maybe it's because this was the first really heavy book emotionally (for me anyway). I still LOVED it and I will always love Harry Potter. It's great to be able to come back to this series whenever I want to escape the world.
