BLOG TOUR, REVIEW & #GIVEAWAY - Wesley James Ruined My Life by Jennifer Honeybourn
Wesley James Ruined My Life - Jennifer Honeybourn
Sixteen-year-old Quinn Hardwick’s having a rough summer. Her beloved grandmother has been put into a home, her dad’s gambling addiction has flared back up and now her worst enemy is back in town: Wesley James, former childhood friend—until he ruined her life, that is.

So when Wesley is hired to work with her at Tudor Tymes, a medieval England themed restaurant, the last thing Quinn’s going to do is forgive and forget. She’s determined to remove him from her life and even the score all at once—by getting him fired.

But getting rid of Wesley isn’t as easy as she’d hoped. When Quinn finds herself falling for him, she has to decide what she wants more: to get even, or to just get over it.

Ruined By Tracy Wolff 99 cents!
Ruined - Tracy Wolff

He’s the last man Chloe Girard should love . . . but the first she ever could.

Ethan Frost is a visionary, a genius, every woman’s deepest, darkest fantasy—even mine. And, somehow, I am his.

He stole into my life like a dream. Turned my reality upside down and made my every desire come true—especially those I never knew I had. He demanded everything I had to give and gave me everything of himself in return.

But dreams don’t last forever, and ours is no exception. Because my nightmares are darker, and my wounds deeper, than I could ever reveal. And as much as Ethan wants to protect me, the secrets we share will only tear us apart.

THE FRENCH HOUSE by Don Wallace
The French House: An American Family, a Ruined Maison, and the Village That Restored Them All - Don Wallace
Mindy and Don buy a house on Belle Ile, off the coast of Brittany, that needs to be repaired. Their families are not happy about it but they persevere. Life happens but the thought of the house and their chance to be there helps get them through the downs of life in America.

I enjoyed this book. I liked how we get a glimpse of life in the US for them (sometimes you have to read between the lines to know what has happened.) The thought of the house and the repair work being done gives them the strength to move past the disappointments of familial disapproval, job loss, and economic downturns. I love how they bring surfing to Belle Ile. I also like how they fit in as well as the thoughts they have when they think more like Americans than Bellilois while on the island. I loved the letter to the people who stay in their home when they are back in the US. It is great. I would love to have a dream like they did and to execute it. Loved this book

Tag Team Event Giveaway – Ruined Wings by Ashley Fontainne @AshleyFontainne
Ruined Wings - Ashley Fontainne

Ashley Fontainne is a master storyteller and I am not surprised that Ruined Wings, a novella, has been picked up for film.

You can get it free on Amazon.

OR, if you would like a couple of chances to win an audio version, check out the link below.

To me, this cover speaks of despair and hope and I love the black and white image done by One of a Kind Covers by Ashley Fontainne.

Ruined Wings

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

Ashley Fontainne is a master storyteller and I am always on the lookout for another story from her.

Ruined Wings…I love that the cover shows the despair and hope that is contained between ‘the pages’. It makes me wonder which will prevail.

A lot was riding on the day for Callie, but something felt wrong to her. I knew something bad was coming and her life would be changed forever.

DRUGS…ADDICTION…whether legal or illegal drugs, addiction is addiction. The destruction it brings into a family is horrific. The loss of a loved one can make something you thought was so important, inconsequential.

I love Callie, a flawed, yet strong, focused, determined seventeen year old girl who cannot accept her loss…who can’t move on.

The descent into hell is slow, seductive, and I did not see it going down this way. I love that Ashley Fontainne can always pull a trick or two out of her hat to keep me on my toes.

This sad, and realistic tale reads like a true story.

Ashley’s writing will reach into your heart and gut, and rip them out! Ruined Wings reads like a true story.

Once you start, you won’t be able to stop reading. Unputdownable. Gut wrenching. Tragic, yet hopeful.

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos 5 Stars

Ruined (A Barnes Brothers novel)
Ruined (A Barnes Brothers novel) - Shiloh Walker *sigh* I have a serious problem with the Big Misunderstanding trope here. Since it's not even hinted at in the blurb, but I feel the desperate need to complain about it, I'm hiding it in a spoiler tag. But be forewarned that it's the biggest plot point of the whole book and takes up nearly half of the story.

ALWAYS. TELL. THE. BABY'S. DADDY. THAT. YOU'RE. PREGNANT. God damn, Marin. "I tried to tell you I was pregnant, but you took a phone call!" UUUUGGGGHHHH! No. I don't buy it. When it's something as important as A FUCKING BABY, you force the guy to listen. You grab his arm, stop him from leaving, and make him listen. You track his ass down and make him listen. You block his exit and make him listen. You can even fucking text message him and make him listen! "I tried, but he was busy!" is an awful excuse.

So. Yeah. The meat of this story really bothered me. I also wasn't a big fan of Sebastian - I don't like alcoholics. But I did think his story - going from Sexiest Man Alive to scarred and broken was very interesting. I'm basically giving this two stars because of that and ending - I really did like the conclusion, but it wasn't enough to make up for most of the plot driving me insane.

This book tripped a few of my personal 'dislike' triggers, but I know not everyone has the same, so you're on your own in deciding whether or not you want to read it. This is a shit review, man. Sorry.
