The Day of the Duchess By Sarah MacLean $1.99!
The Day of the Duchess: Scandal & Scoundrel, Book III - Sarah MacLean

he one woman he will never forget...

Malcolm Bevingstoke, Duke of Haven, has lived the last three years in self-imposed solitude, paying the price for a mistake he can never reverse and a love he lost forever. The dukedom does not wait, however, and Haven requires an heir, which means he must find himself a wife by summer's end. There is only one problem--he already has one.

The one man she will never forgive...

After years in exile, Seraphina, Duchess of Haven, returns to London with a single goal--to reclaim the life she left and find happiness, unencumbered by the man who broke her heart. Haven offers her a deal; Sera can have her freedom, just as soon as she finds her replacement...which requires her to spend the summer in close quarters with the husband she does not want, but somehow cannot resist.

A love neither can deny...
The duke has a single summer to woo his wife and convince her that, despite their broken past, he can give her forever, making every day...

The Day of the Duchess (Scandal & Scoundrel) - Sarah MacLean

Seraphina, Duchess of Haven has been in exile for several years and now she returns demanding a divorce. Situations, misunderstanding and family have forced them apart but now she wants a life of her own and she's willing to beg in parliament for it.

He hasn't forgotten her, he needs to marry, but he still loves her.

I enjoyed the read but felt a little let down by the ending it felt a little pat.

With her head held high
A Scot in the Dark (Scandal & Scoundrel) - Sarah MacLean

The Duke of Warnick never expected to have to have much interaction with his English properties or his dukedom, he was 18th in line for the title, and within 2 weeks all the other elegible males in the list were dead. A proud scotsman he wants no truck with the title but has enough of a conscience to keep the estates and houses going.
He doesn't realise that he also inherited a ward from one of the estates, and now shes about to create a scandal. She has been painted naked and it's about to go on display in a major exhibition. She wants freedom and he wants her married and away from scandal and wants back to Scotland yesterday.

Fun relationships , entertaining characters, I enjoyed the read.

slow realisation of love
The Rogue Not Taken (Scandal & Scoundrel) - Sarah MacLean

Well that was interesting.  Sophie pushes the bratty husband of her sister in a pond when she finds him with another woman.  She flees the scene, hoping that she will get away. However she ends up in Kingscotte 'King' the Marquess of Eversley's coach as his footman who is heading to his father's estate, many miles from London.

She wants to escape the world of London and the strictures but she has no real way to do this without a cascade.

King has a problem with his father and the death of an early love he doesn't want love in his life again but she is tempting and he finds himself caring a lot about her and what happens into her. There's shennigans and misunderstanding and a lot of fun and sparkling banter and I really enjoyed it.

Book Review For: 'THE DAY OF THE DUCHESS' by Sarah MacLean
The Day of the Duchess: Scandal & Scoundrel, Book III - Sarah MacLean

'THE DAY OF THE DUCHESS' by Sarah MacLean is Book Three in the "Scandal & Scoundrel" series. This is the story of Seraphina and Malcolm. I have read the other books in this series but feel this is easily a standalone book.
Wow...this book took me through so many emotions! But that is what Ms. MacLean does best! Seraphina and Malcolm were married but things happened and someone also interfered into their lives. This put Seraphina in a position that encouraged her to leave and not come back for a long time. Malcolm had been looking for her but has been unable to find her. But Seraphina turned back up to ask for a Divorce. Malcolm isn't so willing to give it to her but he does come up with a plan to buy him some time to change her mind.
I really felt these two characters needed to be together and work out their issues. If you start reading this book make sure you have an open schedule because you won't want to put it down.
"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."
