This book interested me because of the cuteness of the cover and also the title. I gave it a three star because it was too insta-love for me but reading from both points of view was something I liked very much.

  Wren is not a character I can relate to at all because no teacher has ever called me a quiet person, however she was fun to read but also annoying at times, she didn´t have an uniqueness about her so that made her kind of a boring character.

  Grayson wasn´t the normal bad boy I normally read about, when he meet Wren he was already changing andtrying to leave his bad boys ways, I honesty wasn´t expecting what we later discover about him and some things he did made me want to hit him.

  In spite the insta-love aspect of this, I enjoyed the way they meet and how they both had normal teen problems.

I have to admit, I was swept up by the cuteness of the book cover and the title. The Promise of Amazing? Wouldn't you think there would be a story of epic proportions within its pages? Sadly no. 

The characters were interesting at first, but my interest in them flew out the window once they started interacting more. Just writing and thinking about the character development makes me irritated.

Why do I still bother with YA Fiction? Probably because they're an easy read. These days I really do question my life book choices. 

I’ve been fawning over this book since I first heard about it a year ago. I’m not sure why, but something inside me was just dying to read it, and I am so glad that I finally had that chance! It didn’t quite live up to its title, but it came pretty close.

The Promise of Amazing just seems to be one of those books that you can’t really help but fall for. It’s one of those books where the rational part of my mind knew some of it was a little overboard, but I didn’t actually care—the way Grayson and Wren’s story is set up, you just want them to work—and they did, and incredibly well, actually. It was kept from utter perfection, for me, by the swearing and the slightly overdramatic plot points, but still—I sincerely enjoyed this book, and words can’t describe how happy I am that it at least lived up to my unfounded and fangirlish expectations for it. The romance worked, the characters worked, the story worked—and I enjoyed almost every minute!

What I Liked: Spoilers!

My only real complaint for this book was that there was just too much language. Probably my upbringing and my group of friends growing up, but it just seemed unrealistic to me, and unlikable. 

I liked that the climax of this novel was not the classic couple breakup-get-back-together plot, but that Wren and Grayson actually worked through the thing that threatened to keep them apart. I mean, hallelujah! A YA couple who managed to be reasonable people! 

Yeah, maybe some of Grayson's stories were a little unbelievable. But all in all, this novel was exactly what I wanted it to be, minus the language. I'm definitely happy!

I'm definitely liking this one, though I could do without the language. It really adds nothing to the narration, and it just...bugs me. I don't know. I never hung out with people who cursed a lot in high school (or...at all, actually), so it's foreign to me to see exchanges that just have so much cursing. It doesn't feel real to me, though I understand that's just my perspective. Still, it stops me from wanting to recommend it to a younger audience of any kind.

I still think it's cute and adorable, and I want more. So far, so good--we'll have to see how this plays out and whether Wren and Grayson go down the unnecessarily drama-filled path like so many chick-lit stars before them.
