Thank you for all the remarks. The upcoming IT update next week should fix the ASIN issue and the search should be also improved. So sorry for the ongoing situation, and thank you for your patience. It means a lot.

Great, thanks.

Don't tease me about the ASIN being fixed... you know I'll believe you. ;-) (just kidding, thanks for all the work you do for us Kate - we love you to bits!)
I'm also having a problem regarding Comments.

I can only see comments, and can only post comments, from my Dashboard. If I click on a link from a post, or from Notifications, where it takes me to a person's blog I can see only the icon for comments and the # denoting how many comments there are. I cannot see the comments, nor can I post a comment.

This occurs whether it's my own blog post, or someone else's.

Just another "me too" on the comment thing. I actually thought it was me, but perhaps I was incorrect. I can usually comment from my dashboard, but sometimes I just can't, then if I go to the blog in question, I often can see the comments/discussion, but I can't comment. I'm actually still not sure if it's about a setting or if it's a bug. An example is Linda's comments on the comment bug from this week. I couldn't reply to that in my dashboard or on her blog.
Here's a NEW bug, rather than a repost of an old one.

I'm trying to make sure my actual reviews are showing up on my Shelf listings. One of the books I knew I had reviewed didn't show up. I also knew it was a DNF -- Did Not Finish -- so I went to my Blog and typed in "DNF" for the tag.

No blog posts were returned.

I tried another tag, "tarnished."

Various blog posts came back, exactly as expected.

I tried "dnf" again. No results, just a "More Results" blank bar.

"Non book fun stuff" works.

WHY DOESN'T DNF? Do tags have to be full, real words?

(In case it isn't clear, this is meant is related to Linda's post but meant for Booklikes staff) Related to this: I remember that, at one time, Booklikes used to be set so that tags that were only three characters long were not findable in searches. You changed this, thank goodness (although you didn't do the same with two- or one-letter tags, which are still useless). Have you reverted back to the old settings where three-letter or shorter tags don't work? If so, could you change it back? Lots of people use shorter tags, like DNF, MM, FF, etc.

Thank you, Familiar Diversions.

Dear Booklikes: I have just spent two and a half hours on my book shelves. I have added a whopping two books and added a few tags. I have also started literally crying from the frustration of failed searches, tags that don't work, and comments that won't post.

Linda - Have you tried using the Mass edit posts and tags page for searching through tags on reviews/posts? It might circumvent the 3 letter search bug (although I don't know if it'll be useful with what you are/were attempting to do now. It's accessed via your http://booklikes.com/blog link, under the "Drafts" button. You can search by your tags/shelves and also add posts/books to shelves or add tags to your posts/reviews from there. :)

That works halfway -- it doesn't show the book, just the title I've given the blog post, so I have to look at each post to find the particular book I want.

I'm just tired of all the frustration. I've tried to be upbeat and positive and patient, but everyone has their limits.

I can't enter books into the categories they belong in, categories that people might actually use to find books, but the software allows automatic creation of worthless categories no one will use. Hello?

Shelves are sorted alphabetically by author last name, but then . . . . who knows? First name? Nope. Title? Hm, maybe. Surprise? That, too.

Search works when it feels like it, and seems to pick and choose what field it's going to work on. I've tried ASIN, ISBN, title, author, and nothing comes up, but then when I try to enter the "new" data that isn't there, I get error messages.

I've started "signing" my book page reports when the stuff is completely messed up.

I haven't even started looking for data errors; I'm just trying to make sure all my books are shelved. I already know there are a bunch of errors -- different editions mostly, but other stuff, too -- but I have no inclination to fix anything now.

Sorry to hear about the problematic issues. Some of the issues should be fixed with the upcoming IT update/maintenance. We do plan on working on and improving the search issue, as well as the book categories mentioned by the bloggers and readers in this thread.
I'm not getting all my notifications. I get a notification if someone likes or comments on one of my own posts, but no notifications if someone comments or the original poster replies to a post that I commented on. And I checked - the notifications are enabled.

Adding: This is happening with notifications to discussions threads that I'm participating in, and I've just noticed that my Discussions widget on my home page isn't updating, either.
I'm getting notifications for likes on my own blog posts, but not for new comments on any posts or discussions (including this one). As far as I can tell, it started within the last 24 hours.
