I liked that passage too. It was particularly creepy. And knowing Flagg from other stories by King, I am prepared for complete evil.

(I know I am late to the party. I just finished listening to the first 35 chapters. The voices are well done and I find Flagg's voice so obviously evil (with hissing and everything).

The Stand is one of my absolute favorite books.
I have a lot of respect for Peter, he is obviously a strong force of good.

Thomas is a character that could go either way, depending on how people or life influence him. What he did to that dog was awful. I might have skipped over that part if I was reading instead of listening. But he loved his father and knew that something awful was happening at the last minute.

Flagg is completely evil and having been around for so long is somehow supernatural. Maybe a servant of the devil or is he supposed to be evil personified?

I am hoping that Thomas will somehow grow a backbone and stand up to Flagg.

I need to keep listening so I can catch up....

Now I desperately want to know what you were going to rant about. I actually have no idea (but you could be further into the story).

I guess everyone can relate at least a little bit to the message, that Flaggs well simile is about (I certainly did). Very creepy and very evil of Flagg, to be toying like that with children.

A hissing Flagg? Brilliant.
