Pepperidge Farm Remembers. Snort!

Oh, but it's info she learned from stalking public venues. That makes it okay. On the other hand, every time we read Snot, we're thisclose to showing up at her doorstep. Makes perfect f'ing sense in BBAland where every review below four stars is a personal attack and authors are geniuses beyond reproach.

Note: Authors who don't support BBA behavior are the exceptions to the genius rule. Instead, we're crazy, evil, jealous losers. Duh, I know.

I know I shouldn't laugh, but the first line of Rick's comment is perfection.

Such a strange perspective and such selective memories.
Doesn´t anyone know that publishing public domain works is harrrd?

Also must be the first blurb I have seen where an Awe-thor, or "publisher" already insults his readers.

Offending review incl comments by Edward D. Baxter. All for the higher good of humankind of course.

New Snot Blog Post

This is the only interesting part because Mel gives away how the guilt is eating at her.

(hide spoiler) (show spoiler)

See how defensive Mel acts? Forget that she's posted a reader's real name along with IP (which she states in the SS is PII). Let's think about how she found out I lived in Livermore or where a reader ate dinner or the school another reader worked at.

Imagine Mel hunched over her computer, searching through FB, Twitter, GR, and other public venues to find info on her enemies. She works her way through her shit list to find where someone eats, lives, works, shops, the names of their kids and significant other. She jots down each bit of info to create a profile for that enemy.

Now imagine if I posted everything I could find about her in public venues. I'm sure she's mentioned where she takes her dog or enjoys eating or the name of a friend or two. Would writing up a profile with her RL info be okay? No, of course not. That's stalking. That's evil. Of course when she does the very same thing, it's all in good fun. This is the behavior of a very unhappy woman who has no one in her life to help her.

Speaking of people who don't care enough to guide Mel, here are a few comments on the above post. Check out the one by Good Belle and have a giggle.

Melissa really needs a new hobby.

Terrorists? So now Mel is ripping off Bad Santa's shtick. Clearly there isn't an original bone in her bitter "writing is just a hobby" body.
The thing about the Kara at GR situation is that she was doing her job. Granted, the policy changes (shelf name hooha, etc.) were communicated and put into practice (surprise deleting!) in the WORST way possible, but usually in customer service that's never 100% one person's idea or call. It's something that's done after lots of higher level meetings and in customer service you have to go with what your boss/the company decides. We have no idea if anyone tried to make the case that "the way we're about to do this is only going to piss off the users" - but I'd be shocked if no one did that, because anyone who knows the user base could have raised tons of red flags.

I've always thought it possible that Kara had little choice in the matter, no matter what her own thoughts on the situation were. But I'm sure I have just as much actual knowledge of what went on as Rick. Except I did work in customer service for a website/national chain of stores, and I saw more than one situation where red flags were raised by lower level folks that were ignored until higher ups had more in-your-face examples of customers' anger. (I'm pretty sure that happens almost everywhere in CS. Unfortunately.)

Also yes, WTH with terrorists?! They're over the top in their definition of bullies already, there's no way they can make the case that this is anything near terrorism.

Remember the days with people (who'd usually never been stalked/trolled) would say just to ignore the trolls? Like that would solve things and it'd go away? It's clear by all their comments that even if anyone did try to ignore them they would keep on doing this, assuming that this massive gang of reviewers is still out there watching them and biding their time until they can pounce. (eyeroll)
Another Tara Sparling blog post about reviews.

You are right. I tried to ignore them.
They don't go away.
New Snot Comments

Blazin Fatass stops humping pictures of Nathan B, so she can act duh.

Yes, AR couldn't possibly like how nasty STGRB is because she wants a hate site at her disposal to attack her negative reviews. No, it would never be that because never, not once, ever has AR complained about a review. Not a single SS in the whole wide world exists showing otherwise. (hide spoiler) I admit I like when Snot makes it easy for me to mock their comments. Keep the softballs coming, Mel.(show spoiler)

Next BBA Yvonne M wants everyone to know she stalks readers or maybe just other authors. I guess she was worried we missed her bad behavior when she was outed on AR's FB page. Check out where she contacted a person's employer to complain about them. Yeah, everyone does that. Completely normal. Well normal for a Snot supporter anyway.

Warning: This comment is so long and confusing that you'd think Juno/Punked wrote it.

For those unfamiliar with Yvonne Mason, here are a bunch of her blog posts. I had to skim them because the amount of rage and arrogance was depressing. She's very proud of attacking reviewers and hunting down information on people. This comment says it all...

Sigh. Mel is sad. Brokenhearted really. She works so hard to hurt her enemies. Stalking and threatening, she just wants someone to crawl in a hole and give up. Instead people laugh at her and giggle at her friends. How is that fair?

No, we should be ashamed of ourselves, dammit! I know I'm planning to do some crucial introspection to see if I can please an angry and obscure fantasy author.
