Have you ever wondered if authors like good reviews? Do you wish you knew if your three star review was constructive enough to post? Does reviewing a book sound too confusing? Good news! This Author will Help you Review her Babies properly. You're welcome.

How Authors would wish their books to be reviewed.
Ah, I see you've beaten me to it. I vote we Google her address and all show up at her door. As the Big Black Man in the group, I'll ring the doorbell.

Sorry, but no. I'm not looking to pull a Hale. I wouldn't do a Maggie move either and call one of these dingbats.
Went straight to the list where it belonged. Do she(?) actually recognize the difference when telling us to be immaculate in our reviews before criticizing her spelling and grammar that she wants to get paid while we read her stuff in our free and unpaid time and do not require payment for writing a review, be it 5 star or 1 star?

She's also perfectly okay with giving other authors one stars. I guess they didn't work hard on their books like she did on hers. :P
Wait, I have to contact the author before I post a review less than 4 stars?! Really? And posting a review online should have the same standards of spelling and grammar as a published book?
...I have to go sit somewhere else and giggle.
Also I obviously need to not read any of these folks books as I'm a bit too free with 3 stars.

Well duh!!!!!!

How can you and the author decide together whether or not a 'quite positive 3-Star review can be published' if you don't contact the author?

After all, nobody could expect a Reader to be able to make that decision all by themselves, could they? We Readers are not bright enough to write our own reviews without the help of kindly authors telling us how to do it.

Just think: There are millions of reviewers on Amazon who don't realize they aren't supposed to be giving their own opinion without consulting the author. Maybe Amazon should add that to their Review Guidelines.

Dear Reviewer: Please make sure you have a note from the author before submitting a review of their book.
To be fair, other authors have given her tough love, reminding her of her place in the publishing food chain. Authors don't get to approve their reviews.

She now claims she only meant the reviews from people who asked to review the book. So us average folks don't need her permission first. Just anyone who replies to her request for reviews. Doesn't that sound better?
Jacqueline Gum, one author commenting on her blog has also 5-stared Dragonbride and can't wait for the sequel, not a verified purchase. Micki Peluso has a verified purchase tag; she is a fellow SPA (of practically only 5 star reviews), Mamie, another SPA has also tons of 5 star reviews many of fellow SPA. I think no further comments are needed.

That's one problem with review swaps. Five stars are expected. Mutual ass kissing is required. It's like having beta readers who only say you're a genius. Authors are completely unprepared for the truth from real readers. This author just received her first one star on GR and her reaction was to write a blog telling readers how to behave. :/

So not only do readers get duped by fake five stars, authors begin to believe the hype too.

I will say in her defense that she's not selling, thus striking out in frustration. However, I've seen in the last few months several successful authors whining in the same manner. I have less pity when hundreds (even thousands) of five stars from their readers aren't enough. They still zero in on the few negative reviews. SMH.
I took a mosey over to her GR page to see what was what and found an author I don't ever want my money going to. In her recent comments she went a bit postal over a Harry Potter quiz which was posted by what I can only assume is a young person (judging by their book choices). Totally unacceptable for a grown woman to get that bent out of shape over a Harry Potter quiz IMHO.

And what's with all those bogus 'awards' on her blog?

Not life or death.
