So, this is where I admit giving Danny a toy and food was me partly hoping for more Danny. He's gorgeous, and I'm so glad he likes the disco ball. I was kinda nervous because I don't know much about parrots. I was assured they loved mirrors and shiny things, though.

If you wanted more Danny, all you had to do was ask. I'm crazy about taking pictures of him.



Here is when he found one of my cat doors. This one leads to my bedroom. I heard a noise, looked over and was like " well, that certainly isn't a cat".

Hah, well, I kinda secretly always want more pictures of Danny. This did give me reasons to look up more about parrots, too. And as worried as I was about food quality/what he could/would eat - I looked at ingridients as well as asking at the store - and the toy, I have to admit I enjoyed looking for the toys.

My box is going out tomorrow. I left for vacation on Wednesday. I stopped at the post office to send it off before we left. Their computers were all down so nothing could be shipped. Ugh. I've been in a rather remote spot with no-wifi since Wednesday afternoon. My box is sitting in the back of my van just waiting to find a post office with hours that extend beyond ten in the morning or just Mondays. Seriously, I'm in the middle of nowhere. Now that I have reliable wifi, I have been able to figure out that the post office in this town will be open tomorrow.

No worries! Tomorrow is the last shipping day anyway, and I'm flexible with y'all because we've all been doing this forever :).

And you mentioned sending out tomorrow, which is perfect. I'm usually out all weekends, but I'll be in all of this week for Readercon, and I always end up feeling a crash after: I still want it to be Readercon, and I get a little depressed that it's no longer going on. This should be the perfect pick me up.

Plus, you know me all too well. This should be fun.

I got my first box and couldn't resist opening it. I'm too exhausted to take and post pictures, but I will on Monday.

I got a GotG volume 2 tumblr, A Rocket keychain - yaaaay, Rocket, a peach scented lip balm (which amuses me: I sent some, and got some), and the book Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch. (Everything is coming to Readercon, as is my Conjunx Endura pillow, which already went yesterday. I've been having trouble reading - or sticking to my reader - and I think this'll break me out of my normal sci-fi/horror/fantasy reads at Readercon and maybe break me out of the rut I'm in now.)

I'm hooking up Rocket to my ever expanding fandom keychain clusterfuck. Originally, it was Barricade, then Optimus, then stuffed bear Robin which I got on sale. Which each new addition I thought, 'ah, this will be harder to lose.' It never got any harder to lose, but it's fun to add fandoms. (And is the best of all possible clusterfucks.)

As for the lip balm, yesss, peach=favorite flavor/scent. I'm so excited about this! And there are pitchers of water and tiny cups at Readercon. I've been using a Bee mug with no top, but this is gonna be better. Tumblr+straw=convenience and me not having to get water in my tiny plastic cup every two seconds.

I have driven through Cold Spring three times in the last week. It so awesome to get a box from someone who is actually pretty close to me. Small world!

Yay I'm glad it arrived. I got excited when I saw my match was local this time :-)

I got a second box with a wrap skirt, which I've been using as a lazy dress just for when I have to go downstairs to get food since I'm home alone.
