* The Red House Mystery could also qualify as a Singleton.
** Martin Edwards lists The Moving Toyshop under Making Fun of Murder, but as it also takes place in Oxford, with at least half on University grounds, and a large number of characters being University professors/students, it works equally well under Education, Education, Education.
It'll be so much fun to see the books everybody is reading!

24. The Way Ahead
And I've started. I thought I read Anatomy of a Scandal for this (or at least I marked it "detection club") but it seems it's not on any of the lists. Now that I'm reading(ish) the book, or at least I've read all of the introductory chapters, it would probably fit in Chapter 11 "Education" but it's not named, and it was just published, so I shelved it incorrectly I guess. Darn - I'l have to read another mystery ;)

-- The Big Sleep, 1934 (p294) & for the heck of it, I read the second Marlowe book too (Farewell, My Lovely, 1935) and I think I'm going to skip to the last one (The Long Goodbye) to see what happens to poor old Philip Marlowe. He's barely alive after book 2.
23. Cosmopolitan Crimes
24. The Way Ahead

notes for myself - murder of roger ackroyd - 54, 70, 77, 99
