This is one of my biggest irritations, especially in the so-called "NA" genre. Does every h have to be damanged because of her experience of sexual exploitation, does every H need to have the ability to heal her damage with his magical penis?
Can this trend be over already?
This is one of my big pet peeves as well and I'm almost always annoyed with how the issue is handled. Just once I'd like to see one of the heroes encourage the girl to get counciling instead of using his magical penis on her.
The magical penis has to GO!!! Whether it's thru BDSM or otherwise I'm so done with this. Any type of sexual abuse in a book has to be handled with care and using sex (even worse if it's the uber kinky stuff) as a healing device is SO wrong.
Yeah, NA is the absolute worst (going to make a post on that later) about that. Quite frankly, from a lot of reviews I've read about books with that trope it's really an excuse to write the heroine having a disgusting amount of sex with random partners (no matter the age), but it's okay because there's a ~reason. And then the hero's magic dick heals her! Yay! And if the heroine hasn't been sexually assaulted/molested/raped before the start of the book, then she is or there is an attempt during the book. Usually to make the hero a . . . well, hero. And then it means nothing to the story other than the quick angst. It's fucking ridiculous.
Exactly! Because the only reason a woman likes having sex without love is because she's screwed up in the head from previous trauma. Ugh!!! Thus needing saving by the magic penis to tame her. Deep sigh!!
