I couldn't help but draw parallels to Shelter when I read this book. It almost feels like a fanfic based on the movie. That aside, it's a good read. The characters are well developed and the story is engaging and I enjoyed it a lot.
I finally got around to reading this book. I enjoyed Tell Me It's Real tremendously and BOATK has been on my TBR list forever but not started due to its long length. To me, this is a book with a lot of brilliance and a few important blemishes. The writing is excellent and there's no doubt that T.J....
Tough to rate for me. This book was amazingly similar to the movie "Shelter" (which I adored!) and because of the similarities I was a little put off. While I understand that there are really no new ideas things were just too close. I was also very put off by the stupid nicknames. I mean really put ...
Don’t look at the title! Or the cover! Ignore those because I know that it may not shout “Read me!” but I can assure you, the title makes complete sense and you’re not really reading about a bear and an otter with a human kid.Bear (whose real name is Derrick) and Otter (Oliver) have become one of my...
A wonderful book. The story was heart-breaking at times, hilarious at others, very dramatic and romantic and simply great. This one becomes a favourite because the dramatic events made me agitaged enough, that I wanted to shake the protagonist - and every book, that can make me forget that the chara...
All roads point to Susan hating this book:Bad titleBad coverBad 1st person POVBad female charactersBUT, funny thing is, sometimes you just can’t predict what you’re gonna like. I actually finished this book with a smile on my face. Much to my surprise, the main characters (Bear, Otter, and The Kid...
This is a roller-coaster ride story that had me going through the gauntlet of emotions. I enjoyed Bear and Otter's relationship, especially Otter's resolve and determination. He is such a needed support for Bear. These guys had obstacles at every turn though, and I felt that things were overly dra...
Eh, I'm not fond of first person usually, which was a big negative for this book. Usually, unless the author is doing something really clever, third person just works better for me. I might try this book again at a later time and see if it works better for me, but for now I'm going to pass.
