In review of a scenario that could easily and arguably be labeled under matters of assault and armed robbery, a gentleman whom is iconic within in a community is victimized by another citizen and pressure is placed on local authorities to make an arrest. Following the arrest of a man fitting the description (which was originally given to authorities by the victim), the criminal justice system and rights of the accused are reviewed and discussed – with specific overview of The Bill of Rights under The United States Constitution. Sensitive topics are deliberated, from the right for a speedy and fair trial with representation for the accused, to the rights of the court to undue influence of a jury and the ability of the court to not be required to (circumstances permitting) post bail, while not excessive but gives no room for the accused assailant and thief to be permitted to return to society until proper and extensive review of the situation is made by third party(ies) within and of the community. Additional consideration for corrective punishment options is explored as well.
