Comments From Other Readers
“I’m something of a history buff, but up until picking up a copy of this book, ‘Operation Cowboy’ was a big question mark for me. It is fascinating that so much time and effort was put into rescuing horses, and that their ancestors can still be found around the world today. We talk of unsung heroes quite a bit, but the men that were involved in this mission definitely fit that criteria.” – Joe B. (Springfield, USA)

“It’s not often that you find a book that speaks to both your ‘history nerd’ side and your ‘animal lover’ side. What a neat story! Based on the name, you would think the mission was to obtain precious cargo, and you’d be right – you just wouldn’t expect valuable horses!” – Doris C. (Stow, USA)

“The Lipizzaner horses are a fascinating breed, and it’s interesting to think that the efforts of Operation Cowboy directly affected the Lipizzaners that are alive today. They are the descendants of the horses that were rescued by this mission. This book gives a great account of the planning and execution of one of the most overlooked events of World War II.” – Hank H. (Dallas, USA)

This covers Operation Cowboy (also a subject of an Amazon Kindle Single). While not at the journalistic level of the Kindle Single, it was much better than I thought it would be. It is at a more general reading level, so more suitable for younger audiences. I’m not quite convinced it is worth the 2....
