New Release Review! More Than Pleasure You (More Than Words #5.5) Shayla Black!

I am in Hawaii visiting confirmed bachelor Stephen Lund and guess what? He's trying to convince Sky Ingram that their hot but temporary engagement should be a forever one! Enjoy and don't forget to add MORE THAN PLEASURE YOU - book #5.5 in the More Than Words series by Shayla Black to your shelves!

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shayla Black comes a new story in her More Than Words series…

Can I convince her our hot but temporary engagement should last forever?

I’m Stephen Lund, confirmed bachelor…and son of a successful billionaire whose sins I can’t forget—or forgive. After he delivered an ultimatum to either get over his transgressions or get out of the family business, I put space between us with a temporary getaway to Maui. My rental’s sexy caretaker, Skye Ingram, is a beautiful distraction. Yeah, it’s a terrible time to start a fling, but I can’t help wanting to give her every bit of pleasure she’s willing to take.

When Skye needs a date to her ex-boyfriend’s wedding, I’m game to play her pretend fiancé. The jerk should see what he passed up…and that I’m holding her now. But our pretend engagement begins to feel real. Our passion certainly is. So are the consequences. When I’m confronted with the reality that our lives are now irrevocably entwined, I have to choose between leaving Skye to return to the life—and wealth—I’ve always known or abandoning everything familiar to start over with the woman who awakened my heart.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Confirmed bachelor and son of a successful billionaire, Stephen Lund has to decide if get over his father’s transgressions or get out of the family business and he decides to use a temporary getaway in Maui to do just that. Skye needs someone to play her pretend fiancé at her ex-boyfriend’s wedding. But soon the pretend engagement begins to feel real and Stephen is confronted with the reality that their lives are irrevocably changed and the decision he had to make is now one where he has to choose between returning to the life and wealth he’s always known or abandoning everything familiar to start over with the woman who awakened his heart.

A whirlwind romance that is sweet yet poignant and full of passion and anticipation. The characters are strong, compelling and easily captures readers by the heart as some heavy duty emotional turmoil flows from the pages. One believes the other is too good to be true and the other is a workaholic, so when trouble strikes it’s obvious to Skye that she needs to kick Stephen to the curb and handle things on her own, no matter how much it hurts. Suspense builds as the reader wonder if this couple will be able to overcome their differences and reach their happily ever after. The story is on the fast side as it is a short one but this story hits right in the heart as the author brings these characters to vivid life and the conclusion to this passionate and sweet romance is so very swoon worthy.

EXCERPT: I tried not to judge. It was hard. They were mafia bosses—I got it. Or at least I thought I understood it since I had grown up around it. But my upbringing wasn’t as severe. My dad was a Nicolasi and always kept things quiet around us. It wasn’t until I was twelve that I realized it wasn’t normal for us to make as much money as we did through two jewelry stores and five laundromats. I wrongly assumed that every business owner with a lot of cash drove a bulletproof Mercedes to protect their family. The older I got, the more horrified I became of the life my father lived, the life he forced us to live, and the complete unrest I felt every time I closed my eyes and prayed for him to come home. He was a made man. One of the best in the family, which meant Phoenix trusted him, which in turn meant he trusted me to watch his little boy. And every time Phoenix looked at his phone I wondered if it was my dad texting, if he was alive, if he was okay. He’d been gone for a month. We hadn’t heard from him except for a few “hey, I’m alive” texts. I hated this life. And I wanted out. “Renee.” Nixon leaned down and touched my shoulder. “Are you okay?” I stilled. Remembered not to look directly into his eyes and forced a smile. “I’m just tired, you know how it is.” “Kids do that to a person,” Phoenix piped in, finally sheathing the knives he’d apparently pulled out in the last few seconds that I’d been thinking about my dad. “We need to leave in five.” Nixon stood. I looked away. I had to. It made me sick to my stomach the blood these men had on their hands and the way they so casually talked about killing as if they were discussing the latest episode of This Is Us. I forced a smile at Serena and Junior just as the front door swung open, nearly coming off its hinges. There he stood. My nightmare. Vic Corazon Abandonato. In all his gory glory. Tight black pants. Tight black shirt. Enough guns strapped to him to win an all-out war. And no smile. The man never smiled. It wasn’t in his makeup to smile. The one time he smiled was at Chase, and I think it was just a happy accident because Chase looked as shocked as the rest of the group did. I glanced away, again making sure I wasn’t drawing attention to myself, and fed the kids. Vic was a silent killer. I imagined that people didn’t even know they were dying until they saw the blood running like a river from their chests. I shivered. That’s what assassins for the mafia did. They weren’t made men, they weren’t in line for boss. They did the dirty work-and they took the fall for it. They had one job. Protect the family at all costs.

My Review
5 Stars
ENVY by Rachel Van Dyken is book 9.5 Eagle Elite; and 83 1001 Dark Nights. This is the story of Renee Cassani and Vic Colezan. I thought this to be a standalone book.
Renee is born in the mafia but doesn't want to be a part of it but really has no choice. Vic is a bodyguard for the family but he also wants Renee. But Renee has been designated to marry someone else although not know at first. Their love wasn't supposed to be but that didn't stop it from happening.
Quick exciting story...loved it!
