Favorite book(s) of the month:

EVERYTHING

Books started this month but haven't finished yet:

Still, Elias & Laia - In den Fängen der Finsternis, Tote Asche, Moxie (reread)

Random ramblings:

Okay, but HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

I haven't realized how good of a reading month I had until I just put everything together for this wrap-up. 8 books. 4 of them reread. Yes, a lot of comics. BUT I seriously loved every single page I read this month. Every book is a five-star read. HOT DAMN. I'm impressed with myself and my reading choices.

Alias Vol. 1!!!
Jessica Jones: Alias Vol. 1 (Alias (2001-2003)) - Michael Gaydos,David Mack,Brian Michael Bendis,Bill Sienkiewicz

reread thoughts: I appreciated this so much more the second time around. I think it's because the first time I read it in ebook form and I don't do well with comics when I can't hold them in my hands.

old review: Thank god Prime Reading is a thing now and I could actually read this volume for free. YOU GO, AMAZON!!!

I loved this A LOT.
Since I watched the show Jessica Jones is like one of my favorite people, so I was really excited to read more stuff about her and I'm so glad that I finally got the chance.

I loved all the stories.
The artwork wasn't my thing from time to time, but that was totally okay. Cause I got more Jessica Jones in my life and that's all that I wanted and needed.

2001: A Space Odyssey
2001: A Space Odyssey - Arthur C. Clarke Oh my god, this book was amazing. Such beautiful, intelligent writing. I loved Clarke's description of the planets, and his insertion of interesting relevant facts about them. The last part, Through the Star Gate, blew my mind.

Better than I remembered
X-Man (1995-2001) #1 - Mike Sellers,Steve Skroce,Jeph Loeb

Still as wordy as the older comics were.   Art is pretty typical of the time, but I remembered X-Man, this series, not being great.   It was better and more compelling than I remembered, so I'll probably continue at some point.

Pre-Arthurian-Myth: "Beowulf" by Unkwown, Seamus Heaney
Beowulf: A New Verse Translation - Seamus Heaney,Anonymous

(Original Review, 2001-02-20)

If you are familiar with the Hindu myth-kitty though, you may also find parallels between “Beowulf” and the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. When Jambavan spends a lot of time telling Hanuman about how great he is, to induce him to jump to Lanka in search of Sita, or Arjun surveys the array of warriors against him, described in some detail, leading to the Bhagavad Gita, or the Pandavas' "advisor" at Draupadi's swayamvar asks the unknown Karna to declare his lineage and rank.
