My Thoughts

Colleen Hoover never disappoints for me.  Loved this. A must read for any romance booklover and maybe even the so-so romance booklovers out there.  I added the +Stars for the ending, Colleen's notes to be precise.  Where she tells you upfront not to read them until after you've read the book first.  Because it contains spoilers.  It's uplifting to see a author write such a personal story.

There is so much to love about this book, especially the main characters love for Ellen (Degeneres), and of course Dory.  There's also the significance of the open-heart tattoo. (I recently saw on instagram that Colleen, her sister and her mother all got matching open-heart tattoos on their arms.)  There is so much more, but this is definitely one of those stories you just have to experience for yourself.

Sex Factor:  Yes, but not too explicit, I think it's just right…

Too raunchy for a YA book
A Court of Mist and Fury - Sarah J. Maas

I'll say this book is a New adult book and only +17 readers should read it. Overall it was excelent and much better than all other Sarah J. Maas. In fact it's better than any other book I've read this year. 2016 book of the year, hands down.

My Thoughts

I have such a wondrous love for this series so far, so looking forward to reading the next book, The Forgotten Mountain. but still wanting to savor this one for a bit before I do read it.  I'm also way happy that I just found out there is to be a 4th book, The Lost Codex.  Oh, and there is also a Collector's Society Encyclopedia.  Which sounds kind of cool, I may have to purchase that.

If you like your books unique with numerous references to actual jumping or portalling into all the classics, with some seriously amazing characters, then you should definitely read this.  Or, just read it.  Because Wow.  This is now one of my all time favorites, plus the best second-book-in-a-series I've ever read.

Sex Factor:  Yes, this is not YA, but it's only somewhat explicit.

“People see what they wish to see. And in most cases, what they are told that they see.”

“You believe you could not live with the pain. Such pain is not lived with. It is only endured."

“I would have written you, myself, if I could put down in words everything I want to say to you. A sea of ink would not be enough.'
'But you built me dreams instead.”

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”

"You just hold your head high and be a gentleman. Whatever she says to you, it's your job not to let her make you mad"

“I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.''

“People generally see what they look for, and hear what they listen for.''
