Read one story in this anthology: Wild Honey by Sarah Hegger
12 Nights of Christmas Anthology - Alice Gaines,Tawdra Kandle,Kate Allenton,Kim Golden,Gemma Brocato,Carrie Elks,Cd Brennan,MK Schiller,Rebecca Hunter.,Sarah Hegger,Stacy Finz,Kristi Rose

This is one of the stories in 12 Nights of Christmas. I loved how Honey and Oliver had strong opinions about each other, but one afternoon stuck in an elevator showed that there was more to the other. Honey's more free upbringing made her sweet and honest, though she had her secrets. Her spirit made her a wonderful heroine. Oliver's different upbringing made him judge without knowing. His willingness to open up and to listen to Honey took my heart. I enjoyed this story a lot and look forward to reading the entire anthology.

I received an ARC of this story as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Scorched Release Week Blast - February

His For the Week by alice Gaines

About the Book:

Sex columnist Désirée “Rae” Knight is in a bind—and not the kind she usually likes. Her newest assignment, and possible big break, is an article for her magazine on the sex resort that just opened. The only problem is it’s couples only. Although she writes about having red-hot sex, she’s been single longer than she’d like to admit. Enter her coffee shop crush, who she’s been secretly ogling every morning. Trouble is, he doesn’t know she exists.

When Nate Winslow recognizes the shy, quiet woman at Sufficient Grounds as the author of the sex columns that fuel his fantasies, he’s surprised. And the last thing he expects is an invitation to join her at a sex resort. But his answer is hell yes!

Rae and Nate have enough chemistry in the bedroom to set the sheets ablaze. When Rae insists they limit their relationship to sex only, Nate agrees since he’s burned out on love. But the more they push each other’s boundaries, the more they realize one week won’t be enough.

The Test by Tawna Fenske

About the Book:

This is a test. A test of every life decision Lisa Michaels has ever made.

Lisa thought she’d gotten everything right: The nicest condo, the right career, the best hair, and a perfectly adequate sex life with her stockbroker fiancé. But when the fiancé ditches her at the altar, Lisa’s left questioning every decision she’s ever made. What if her instincts have been steering her wrong all along? And what if she tested that theory by spending one month doing the exact opposite of what she’d normally do?

A crazy-hot fling with a tattooed steelworker from the wrong side of the tracks seems like a good starting point...

Just One Week
Just One Week - Alice Gaines This is an interesting read. The story is engaging and I loved the characters. I recommend it all readers who enjoy a good contemporary romance.

For eight years Michelle has avoided coming back to her home town. She doesn't have many happy memories of this place and a few that she has involves Alex. But the last time they were together something happened to make her run away and never look back.. until now.. It's Alex's parents anniversary and since they are like parents to her too she must attend the party. Not to worry though, it's just one week. She can handle one week of Alex's company without giving away the fact that after so many years she still feels hurt and betrayed by his words.

Alex has been waiting for an opportunity like this. He must make amends. It was his fault that Mickey never came home and now it's time that he clears the air. He just needs her to listen him out and then may be she will forgive him. This time he doesn't want her to go away for so long. He had missed her.

So now that they have been thrown back together things will get interesting. No matter how hard they try they cannot deny the attraction or the love they feel for each other. But will they be able to overcome their differences is another question entirely...

The book is quite good, the only thing that annoyed me a little was all the intrigue author created about "eight years ago" but in the end explanation was quite enough for Michelle to leave the way she did. I wanted more to understand what exactly had happened. But in any case it was a good read. <3

Just One Week
Just One Week - Alice Gaines Mickey and Alex had more in common than each was willing to admit. A broken heart tore apart the close friendship they shared. A bruised ego kept them apart for eight years. And an inferiority complex stands in the way of a chance for reconciliation. Just One Week shows how hurt and insecurity can create a breach in the strongest of relationships. With age Michelle and Alex had to learn how to move on from the pain of the past and look ahead to a chance at happiness together. A new author, a tempting story and a insightful read.

Captain and Countess By Alice Gaines $1.99 on Amazon
Captain and Countess - Alice Gaines

Captain Jason Northcross desperately desires his sister, Lily, to marry into noble society. To achieve a duchy for his sister, he needs a proper marriage for himself. His status guarantees an easily achieved betrothal, and he should have no trouble selecting one of the eligible young ladies during his party in the countryside. However, distracted from his goal, he has a hard time keeping his hands off his neighbor, Lady Rushford.

The late Earl of Rushford's widow, Bess Webster, believes romance has passed her by. So why can’t she keep Captain Northcross out of her dreams? And how does he inflame passions she didn’t know she had? While she should be focused on penning novels and finding husbands for her friends, her thoughts center on broad shoulders and laughing green eyes.

Will these misaligned engagements be set straight before the final vows have been spoken?
