Uneasy Prey
Uneasy Prey - Annette Dashofy

Yet another great installment to the Zoe Chambers series. Zoe and Pete are back and are investigating a string of robberies against senior citizens in the area. When the robbers start to target people near and dear to Zoe and Pete they'll stop at nothing to catch the robbers.

This definitely kept me interested from start to end. Zoe once again throws herself into danger quite recklessly but that is just what she does. There is a murder in this book and I felt like it was quite easy to figure out who did it.

I always look forward to reading about Zoe and Pete and I can't wait to read more of this series. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the galley.

No Way Home (A Zoe Chambers Mystery) (Volume 5) - Annette Dashofy
This is one of my favorite series by Henery Press. Zoe Chambers is an Emergency Medical Technician. She is also working to become a detective. She is also dating - maybe more - the police chief of Vance Township, Pete Adams.

In this book, we find someone has shot the county commissioner and there's a girl who's died of an overdose all in the same day. There's not a lot of murders in this small township. So for there to be two in one day - okay something's going on.

This leads both Pete and Zoe scrambling to figure it out. Pete because he's the chief and Zoe because the commissioner died while riding his horse which was boarded in her stable and on her trails.

There's lots more bodies, intrigue, shootings, suspense, and mystery with a whole list of suspects in this unputdownable book. It may be a cozy mystery, but this one had my heart beat racing.

Thanks to Henery Press for approving my request and to Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest review.

No Way Home
No Way Home (A Zoe Chambers Mystery) (Volume 5) - Annette Dashofy

This was a great addition to a series that I have already grown to love. Zoe and Pete are back and this time are left trying to solve a couple murders. Zoe has to go to New Mexico when he friend Rose's son is a suspect in a murder and Pete is trying to figure out who killed county commissioner Dale Springfield. Pete also is left to deal with a sudden rise in overdoses.

I really enjoyed both Zoe and Pete's storylines in this book and how they eventually tied together. Zoe finds herself once again in danger (what else is new) but she receives help this time from a Navajo man who tries to stop a dangerous man from killing her.

I look forward to reading more about Zoe and Pete. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the galley.

With A Vengeance (A Zoe Chambers Mystery) (Volume 4) - Annette Dashofy

#WITHAVENGEANCE AVAILABLE 5/3/16  4 STARS!  GREAT NOT TO MISS COZY

@Annette_Dashofy @HeneryPress

This was a great little cozy. Fast paced and really hard to put down. Someone is killing the first responders or are they going after certain people? With a whole slew of suspects, many of them making great contenders, I jumped back and forth with with my consensus.

The writing was great, the characters were great, although I think I agree with some of the characters that Pete and Zoe should really should just figure it out and get it over with. There was a little too much of the high school googly eye stuff. Maybe less of that and more suspense would have worked better for me. Although, there were no explicit sex scenes for those who care, it was a little too much for me. Don't let it stop you from reading the book though. The mystery and suspense scenes were very well done.

Thanks to Henry Press and Net Galley for allowing me to read and review yet another of your great authors and books.

With a Vengeance
With A Vengeance (A Zoe Chambers Mystery) (Volume 4) - Annette Dashofy

What a relief, this was much better than the last book of the series. I was back to liking Zoe in this one and definitely fearing for her and Pete's safety. This had everything that I have previously loved about this series; great action, good romance between Zoe and Pete (but not overwhelming and annoying), and a mystery I couldn't solve no matter how hard I tried.

Zoe is back to being her normal self in this book. She and all first responders are left fearing for their safety when someone is setting up fake accidents in order to ambush them. There was so much tension and action in this that I never felt bored while reading this.

I really liked where Zoe and Pete where in their relationship. Honestly after the last book I wouldn't blame Pete if he dumped Zoe and wanted nothing to do with her. I do feel like they are good for each other but liked that they were still keeping things slow.

I kept thinking that I knew who was behind the ambushes but I was wrong each time. I loved that it wasn't obvious at all. I was definitely satisfied by who it was and why they did it.

I am really glad that I enjoyed this book. I was a little wary about reading this after I didn't really like the last one. I needn't have worried though because this book reminded me of why I love this series.

Thanks to Netgalley and Henery Press for the galley.
