Babycakes (Tales of the City Series #4)
Babycakes - Armistead Maupin the third in this series continues to be my favourite for now, but any excuse to read more about these characters. i especially loved the addition of wilfred and lord roughton.

michael's storyline broke my heart.

the only problem i had with it was mary ann's behaviour throughout was out-of-character to the extreme. i don't know, maybe she has really changed that much since we last saw her but it felt forced.

i know these books are the epitome of ridiculous AND THAT'S PARTIALLY WHY I LOVE THEM but "surprise baby!", really?? haha

Babycakes - the kind of cozy contemporary romance I love to read
Babycakes - Donna Kauffman
Sugar Rush - Donna Kauffman

Babycakes - Donna Kaufmann

contemporary romance, adult, #3 in the Cupcake Club series, first book in the series: Sugar Rush

This was exactly the kind of nice and cozy contemporary romance I love to read. The book and the whole series is set in a lovely, small town and there are a lot of likable and a bit eccentric characters living in that place. The two main characters of "Babycakes" are the kind of people you would like to have as friends, they are the kind of people you root for and want to see happy. The story was heart-warming, lovely and made me smile a lot. Turtles played an important role in the book and adding this little extra worked perfectly for me. And of course cupcakes and baking played once again an important role, needless to say that I loved this aspect of the story. :)

You can read this book as a stand-alone, however the other books in the series are also great, so I would recommend to start with the first book which is called "Sugar Rush". If you are in the mood for a cozy contemporary romance, then "Babycakes" and "Sugar Rush" are great books for you.

Babycakes
Babycakes - Donna Kauffman This book is a heartfelt, warm story about a woman’s journey to find love. Kit has suffered emotionally. She’s experienced loss and feels like her life is going nowhere. She decides to open a bakery, pouring all of her emotions in to a job she loves. When she runs in to the tall dark and handsome lawyer, Morgan, however, everything changes, and she’s caught up in the possibility of a romance.

The development of the romance between Kit and Morgan is beautiful. The emotional obstacles that Kit must face are all too familiar, and as she works through them, Morgan’s ability to understand and his patience is romantic and very sweet. As the story goes on, their friends and family play the role of matchmaker, trying to encourage and convince the two that their relationship is worth all of the effort.

Fun, loving and charming, this story set in the South, is a perfect romance for a night in. If you’re looking for a good book that will make you melt, pick this one up and fall in love.
