Chicka Chicka Boom Boom - Bill Martin Jr.,John Archambault,Lois Ehlert

This book focuses on teaching children about the alphabet. They do this by having lower case and upper case letters helping each other out. The leveling system is The Lexile, reading level AD530L. Students will be assigned a letter and they have to come up with as many words as they can in a certain amount of time.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. is a book about the letters in the alphabet racing each other up the coconut tree. This is a great novel for preschoolers and kindergarten.

This is such a classic book among the lower grade levels. This book is about the different letters racing to get to the top of a coconut tree. This teaches students rhyming, letters, and visuals of how letters look.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, is another children's book classic. It is a rhythmic and rhyming tale that features the 26 letters of the alphabet.  I would use this book for younger grades when learning about the alphabet. I think that every teacher should have this book in their classroom as it can be incorporated into lessons in various ways. (Book Reading Level: Lexile 530L)

I loved this book way back in kindergarten and still love it today! I would like to have the students in groups and have a basket of letters and a tree. As we read through the story, the students can find the letters and can lay them in the top of the tree. When they all fall they can use their arm to sweep them all back off.
