Feel-Good Romance Just in Time for Summer
Drive You Wild: A Love Between the Bases Novel - Jennifer Bernard

“I love you.” he staggered under his armload of sweet, passionate Paige.
“You love me?” Her face lit up with so much sheer delight that he couldn’t help laughing.
“Is that such a surprise? You’re fucking irresistible. You’re like catnip or pancakes or a cold longneck on a hot day.” He grinned, feeling as light as a long ball hitting the air currents.

Baseball fever ran rampant in Drive You Wild. Kilby’s beloved group of rowdy ballplayers gave their all trying to get into the playoffs, including their hitting machine Trevor Stark. But he had more action and drama off the field once the lovely Paige Taylor set her sights on the handsome left-fielder.

Jennifer Bernard’s Love Between the Bases series has been an absolute joy to read so far. And I’m falling more in love with the team and the quirky townspeople with each new story. There’s such a great combination of down home Texas charm, comical antics from the players, their love and passion for the game itself, and the feisty women who fall in love with the talented guys.

Characters with character: SELF-DISCIPLINE
Harriet, You'll Drive Me Wild! - Mem Fox,Marla Frazee

Harriet, you'll drive me wild!

by Mem Fox

Illustrated by Marla Frazee

Harriet is really trying not to misbehave, and her mom is really trying not to get mad at her. But sometimes both things happen. It's touching to see how both of them are trying hard. Mom doesn't like to yell. Harriet says she is sorry, and she means it. The best part is that they both can be forgiving, with themselves and with the other, and then try again.

It's a strong point in this story that both, mom and Harriet, have to effort to control themselves, this way parents and kids can relate with the characters. The repetition of the phrase "just like that" helps to see how natural this situation is.

The illustrations are beautiful, and they really add details to the text of the story being told. That's something so important in a picture book, that always involves a reader and a pre-reader who follows the story with the help of the images.

Frazee is a very talented illustrator. The illustration that accompanies the "There was a terrible silence" page is SO good! It shows this second of silence before the big explosion with such a vivid tension!

REVIEW: Drive Me Wild

Hearts: 5/5

Sensual: 5/5

Heat: 3/5

Drive Me Wild. Another dangerous read by Shari Slade.

I loved this 3rd part to the Devils Host MC Series. It was a more in-depth read to this exciting series. It was intense in every way possible and I read on impatiently wanting to find out what was going to happen to Noah.

In this 3rd installment you can tell that everything going on is slowly getting to Star, and she’s not appreciating how Noah treats her. Well, she’s hot and cold. Its a love/ hate relationship with the way he treats her. It annoys Star yet gets her lady parts all hot and achy, and the only thing to sooth her conflicting feelings is Noah. Him and all his muscles, and other sexy parts.

What is a girl to do? I feel her pain. I feel her confusion. I feel her torn at her decisions, her questions on whether or not she will live or die. Whether or not Noah will live or die. Whether or not Noah and her will have a future together. And whether or not her feelings for Noah are real or not.

Are her feelings love or lust? Noah took her away from a boring life and dropped her in a exciting chaotic world. Love or lust? Is it because they have wild monkey sex. Love or lust? Is it because he can talk to her in such a demanding tone, that should be embarrassing yet she gets aroused by his demeaning commands, and sometimes degrading actions. Love or lust?

What is it? And by the time Star figures it all out will she be alive?

At the end of the day, Noah gets her and vice versa. They’re quite a duo. They get each other going and know each other’s limits.

I like how you see a softer side to Noah, yet he still keeps his roughness.

At the end of this installment you find out whose a Rat, in the Devils Host gang and Star has to get to Noah fast, before its too late…

Exciting!

Can’t wait for the next installment.

Sensual rating 5/5 Its explicit.

Heat rating 3/5 its sizzling.

Drive Me Wild
Drive Me Wild - Christine Warren A great addition to the Others series. Rafe and Tess have always been my favorite couple of Warren's, and I was excited to see them get their own book. I finished it in two days (could have been one if I hadn't started so late in the afternoon).

Rating: The non-romantic part of the plot is anticlimactic, and some of the writing could use a trim, but it was a page turner for sure.

Drinking Game Ideas: take one sip for every herb mentioned that you are unfamiliar with, take a sip for every time you read the word gatita, take a gulp whenever someone mentions directions to Bellevue, and chug when the insane villain appears
