Fearless: Imagine Your Life Without Fear
Fearless: Imagine Your Life Without Fear - Max Lucado So many people
are too afraid to
pursue their ideas,
their hopes, their goals,
and their dreams,

so many people are too afraid
to take that necessary action
and to make that necessary step
that would eventually approach them
to this point with which they could
eventually reach and touch
their craziest, wildest,
and impossible dreams.

But more importantly,
so many people are too afraid
and too terrified to be themselves
in this life and in this world,

because they've created this thing
they like to call fear
within their minds.

My question is: Why be afraid ?

Why be afraid of taking that action
and why be afraid of making that step?
Why be afraid of being yourself
in this life and in this world?

It's fear that prevents us from
living our lives to the fullest,
it's fear that prevents us
from reaching, touching,
and living our dreams,

it's fear that prevents us from
offering our truest gifts, our truest  values,
our truest worth, and our truest potentials
to the beautiful side of the world,

it's fear that prevents us from
reaching our greatness
and living our
undeniable
destiny,

it's fear that prevents us from
succeeding and exceeding
in every area and every aspect
of our lives,

it's fear that prevents us from
living that life we silently know
we deserve to live.

Don't be afraid and don't be terrified
of your ideas, don't be afraid and don't be
terrified of your hopes,
don't be afraid and don't be terrified
of your craziest, wildest,
and impossible dreams,

because you know what?

Throughout History, many hundreds
of immensely brilliant minds were once
afraid of something, but they've eventually
beaten that fear they've had and they've left
behind an enormous legacy about which
we still read and learn about today.

Don't be afraid to become that person
you know you were always
meant to be, because your life, your dream,
always was and always will be
God's gift to
this world.

Book Review: Fearless (Alpha Bodyguard #5) By Sybil Bartel
Fearless (Alpha Bodyguard #5) - Sybil Bartel

You're probably getting tired of hearing me gush about most books by this author. I just feel the urge to scream out at whoever will listen about how good Sybil's books are! Her writing is improving with every book release and if you're looking for action this novel, in particular, is definitely for you!

Ty was a mystery from past books in this series. He's been portrayed as mean and rude with some glimpses of him being caring in rare instances. I liked how the author portrayed him. He's not necessarily an anti-hero but he's far from a saint. He doesn't shy away from inflicting violence if the means justify the end. That's always who his character was (even in past books) and that didn't change with his story and finding someone he could love other than his family.

I have a love/hate relationship with Ludeviene. She comes from a filthy rich family and an upbringing to match. She's been sheltered and seems to have a very overprotective father who likes to keep up appearances. The thing that I didn't love about her was her not speaking due to shock/panic. I can understand that shock and panic can make the human brain not function properly but, storywise, it caught me off guard.

I love how the author incorporated ASL (American Sign Language) in this story! If I were ever to learn a third language it would probably be sign language.

The ending was heart-shatteringly sweet. It was pain and sadness and wanting a happy future sort of moment and I can't fault the author for how she ended Ty's story. On a completely different note, I really really really really want a story on Myles (Neil's nephew)! Would it be naive of me to hope Callus is about him?

My Favorite Quotes:

"[...] I didn't equate survival or self-defense with murder."

"I didn't know how to live."

"No one had ever trusted me to take care of myself."

Amazing Grace
Amazing Grace - Mary Hoffman,Caroline Binch

I absolutely love this book and I am so grateful Ms. Gilmore introduced me to it. It will always be a part of my collection. I love the message and it is a great book for children most importantly. Grace is talented, fearless, and determined. She does not let anyone or anything stand in her way and that is a great quality to have. There are so many activities you can do with this book, students can put on a play and act out the book or write about what they want to be when they grow up. For younger students instead of writing about what they want to be, they could draw or act it out and explain it to the class.
