This series is only decent for me right now.  I didn't like this issue as much as I liked last one, as there wasn't as much work on the characters, and I didn't think it was as funny.   I am still interested in the app aspect, especially since there's going to be a pretty epic super villain app battle from what I can tell. 

The new app Lackey promises what Hench does, but at half the price.   The owners may just come to blows over this.   Let's see, shall we?     

One more issue, then something different, I think.

So that means I'll give issue three a try, and by then, why not go for the full four on MU?   So, yes, I will read this through, but even with the work on Scott Lang's character, I still dislike Lang - the big man child - enough that I can't see this being a favorite series of mine. 

I'm interested enough in what happened to Cassie to read the previous series, and I want to see if anything happens with that here, to be honest, but I'm not in love with the series by any means. 

I'm trying this because Scott Lang did more for me in the Ant-Man movie than he ever has before, but I'm still not crazy about Lang.   I do like Scott's daughter Cassie, because she dated Vision when they were both in Young Avengers, but here she's normal, with no Pym particles, and there's nary a sign of V.  

So pretty much I knew Lang might be a bust for me, and I actually didn't expect to like this as much as I did.  It's mostly the Hench app, an app for super villains/really rich people to find and hire other super villains/people who can do what they can't to assassinate heroes for them.   It's clever, and I like how it kept coming back, especially at the end when Lang's asked to rate the fight he just had. 

Some clever ideas, but quite frankly I expected more from Spencer.  I've liked other series he's written, hated the idea he had for Captain America, and this one is just 'meh' for me.   Then again, I really liked some of the later Carnage's even though issue one didn't do much for me, so I'm willing to see if issue two does anything for me at all.

Autor dwunastu książek poetyckich, dziesięciu krytycznoliterackich i licznych szkiców o współczesnej literaturze anglojęzycznej. Ostatnio wydał antologię Sześć poetek irlandzkich (2012), tom szkiców o przekładzie literackim Gościnność słowa (2012) oraz tomy wierszy Oranżada (2005), Makijaż (2009) i nominowany do Nagrody Poetyckiej Silesius Na dzień dzisiejszy i chwilę obecną (2012). Tłumaczył m.in. utwory Jamesa Joyce’a, Raymonda Carvera, Philipa Rotha, Johna Banville’a. Mieszka w Łodzi.

Nick Brooks

 
Urodził się i mieszka w Glasgow. Z wyróżnieniem ukończył filologię angielską oraz twórcze pisanie na tamtejszym uniwersytecie. Imał się różnych zajęć, pracował między innymi jako muzyk, rysownik i witrażysta. Debiutował w 2005 roku powieścią My Name is Denise Forrester, rok później wydał The Good Death. Jest doktorantem na Uniwersytecie Zachodniej Szkocji. W kwietniu 2014 została opublikowana trzecia powieść autora, Indecent Acts.
