Playing Patience
Playing Patience - Tabatha Vargo Playing Patience is book 1 in Blow Hole Boys. I love this book. I've read it more than once. It is one of two books that stays on my kindle permanently. Zeke is one of my favorite book boyfriends. Often my favorite book boyfriends don't correspond with my favorite books. This is one of those that matches both categories.

There's a place you land right before you hit rock bottom, a sort of cushion before the blow. It's full of fresh air that fills your deprived lungs and so much light that even in its darkest corners it warms your skin. This place prepares you for your plunge, holds you in its calming presence and rocks you softly.

Patience is from high society. She lives in a fancy house. Goes to a fancy school school. Etc etc.

Zeke is white trash. He lives in a single wide trailer with rotten floors. His life is full of parties and fights.

It wasn't in my nature to give a shit, so it made me angry that I kind of did.

Although, from two different worlds, they keep crossing each other's paths. Inside behind closed doors, they both have secrets. Their lives really aren't that different.

Abuse was abuse no matter its form. One wasn't easier than the other; either way it hurt. Either way it scarred the person on the receiving end. It scarred them and broke them into tiny pieces.

I'm not going to say anymore about this book because I couldn't do it justice. It's one of those books you must read. So please, please dig in if you haven't experience it yet.

FYI- Blow Hole is the name of the band Zeke is in. He's the guitar player.
{we called it the Blow Hole since you could walk in and score a line of coke at any given moment}

Playing Patience
Playing Patience - Tabatha Vargo I am, really getting a feel for these Rocker romances. They are not easy sweet love stories. They are down and dirty, smokin hot and filled with emotions!!! The heroes are usually less than perfect and way tortured. It is a nice break from my usually fluffy love books.

Zeke fits the mold and is a really delicious bad boy with all the angst musicians carry. He has some really jerk moments but you just can not help but forgive him, damn charisma! Patience is the perfect girl for him, he needs to be a hero, even if he does not realize it himself.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster! You will laugh, cry buckets, get mad as Hell, sob uncontrollably and finally come out the other side with a happy ending. These kinds of books can be very cathartic because you spend so much energy on fictional characters, it helps cleanse woes of everyday life.

I am easily addicted, what a fabulous start to the series! Really well written, with fantastic pacing. I never felt a lull. I loved the mixed narrative, definitely helped give perspective to both characters. This is my favorite style to read, it makes the experience fuller and more engaging.I loved the scene rewinds to get the other POV, really made things clearer and took you deeper into the characters.

The romance is built up and doesn't just jump into the sack. There is some nice steam but the story takes center stage. Really terrific and I can not wait to jump into the next book!! This one put me through the wringer, so I might need a day to recover! Who am I kidding, I am going to jump in as soon as I post this!

*Disclosure- I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.

Playing Patience
Playing Patience - Tabatha Vargo Playing Patience was an incredibly dark and emotional read that was absolutely heartbreaking at times. I would consider this a very mature YA as the characters are still in high school but it contains heavy subject matter such as physical and sexual abuse. Not for the light of heart.

Playing Patience
Playing Patience - Tabatha Vargo Patience and Zeke.... What an epic tragic love story... Two utterly broken and abused beautiful souls... The horror they suffered at the hands of the ones who were suppose to love and protect you is shattering... In all that darkness and pain.. They were able to find each other and each one picked up the others shattered pieces and made each other whole...
