Volume 32 Rest in Peace
The Walking Dead, Vol. 32: Rest In Peace - Robert Kirkland,Charlie Adlard,Research and Education Association,Stefano Gaudiano,Cliff Rathburn

This is the end--the very last volume of the series.  When I went online in search of the release date for this volume, I also learned this was going to be the end.  THE END.  Initially, I put a hold on the book in my library's system.  Somehow, without my noticing, the library system had obtained four copies that were, OF COURSE, already checked out, and had several copies in cataloging.  And five people ahead of me in line.  The way this even happened was that someone had changed the way the titles were cataloged, so back when I first searched for "The Walking Dead. Vol 32," I got no search results.  Because the book was entered with the world "Volume" written out, and four people got to check out books I didn't know the library system had.

And I decided, "Screw that.  This is the last volume of the entire Walking Dead series."  So I walked out the the local comic shop and spent the $16.99 + tax to own this baby.  Then took myself off the waitlist to let others fight out when the library system makes it copies available.

I don't want to spoil anything about this final volume, and that makes it tricky to write about.  I will say that for a while now, I've been feeling that the series needs to be ended, and it needs to be ended well.  I believe it has been.  Not that there isn't pain, and yes, you will be choked up.  I think this ending did the series justice.  And I'm happy to put this book on my shelf.

Rest In Peace
Rest In Peace - Richie Tankersley Cusick Again, I'm sort of at a loss of what to say.
There's just more questions than answers here.
The story continues right where it left off in book one. I feel bad for Lucy because all these terrible things are happening to her but no one really believes her and the only person who could help her is "dead". I'm not too sure Byron is completely gone. Just a feeling.
It's awfully convenient that the one other person who wants to befriend Lucy just happens to have a passion for all things supernatural, so if she did decide to tell her about all her craziness, Dakota wouldn't judge her too harshly.
I think it's odd that Irene keeps leaving Lucy home alone all the time. After what happened to/with Angela, it seems that she would want to make sure that Lucy didn't go missing in the middle of the night or something. Besides, Lucy is having trouble coping with Byron's death, not to mention all the physical injuries she got during the accident. Why on earth would she leave her alone after that?
Now at the very end, we have the addition of Byron's brother whom I'm going to guess is going to give us more questions that answers because that just seems to be how this series is going.

Rest Inn Peace by Bonnie Bernard
Rest Inn Peace - Bonnie Bernard

I was asked to read this book for an honest review.

Let me tell you that I found this book to be one of the weirdest books that I have read in a long time. And I absolutely loved it. There was just so much going on in this book that I wish I had way more time to read it. You definitely would need more than a week to take it all in and thoroughly enjoy it. This book just had you twisting, turning, flipping sideways, turning upside down and running backwards lol. It was all crazy and just weird. But oh it was such a good weird. I think every other word in my notes was the word weird. As you can tell, I am using it a lot now.

Every single character in this book was fantastic. From the tiniest sprite to the biggest stinkiest dragon, I loved them all. Oh yes, I forgot about the normal humans to, I liked them. I really liked how the author had the 3 POVs. You had the 2 main character's POV and then a sorta main character's POV, that I do believe helped make the story. That was a definite added bonus here. We start out by meeting Cobra and Zoe, ha! I am not gonna lie but it took me a minute to warm up to these two, but I think that may have been how it was suppose to be. But I ended up loving the things that came out of their mouths. Some of the stuff that Cobra muttered was some of the exact same things that come out of my mouth. And I really felt sorry for Zoe after a bit and I could kind of understand her attitude. These two were suddenly thrown into taking care of a property that was left to them after their Gran passed away. This father and daughter team had lead kind of a rough life so far and they thought maybe this would be the answer to all their problems. Well Cobra did anyways, Zoe just didn't want to leave her best friend and wished her dad would admit to seeing the orange dragon. What they stumbled into was Rest Inn Peace...Where Life Begins At The End of The Road. Love it! It was a place full of dragons, trolls, zombies, fairies, a talking cat and Reggie. Reggie was the manager of the Inn. I loved her wide open spirit. She was so light and airy and just kind of balanced out Cobra's grumpy self. She proved to Cobra and Zoe that the magic they saw was to be embraced and not ignored, that it was what kept the world moving. But once these 3 zany character and all the magical ones got together, utter chaos, laughs and danger ensued.

So as you can tell, I really loved this book. There was so much stuffed into this story and for once I loved it. It honestly wouldn't of been the same without all of it. You seriously never knew what would happen next or exactly what would pop out of the woods or the fireplace. There were a couple of parts that did kind of slow down and I did skip a few sentences here and there but other than that, it was just great. Oh and my only other complaint is, WHAT KIND OF ENDING IS THAT?!? Does this mean there is going to be another book? Hmmmm? Oh I hope so. If so, I can not wait to read more about all these fruitbatty characters. So if you are looking for that odd little story that will have you laughing, look no further.

Book Review of Rest Inn Peace by Bonnie Bernard
Rest Inn Peace - Bonnie Bernard

Review 6******

This is a highly entertaining read! I LOVED IT!

Cobra (real name Corbin) Carpenter is a fantastic character. He is an ex-con with an alcohol addition he is trying to kick. When he inherits a Bed and Breakfast business, his whole world gets turned upside down! I really liked this character, even though his belief (or is that disbelief?) of other worldly creatures is severely tested.

Zoe Carpenter is his twelve year old daughter. She is another fantastic character. She is very sweet and still has the ability to see fairies and other creatures that adults no longer see. I liked her very much.

There are also some other fantastic characters in this story. These include a talking cat, a dragon (or 2), fairies, zombies and a family of yeti's by the name of Smith! There is even a ghost from the seventies (that's 1970's!) called Foxy, who talks in rhyme. This story ROCKS! It completely pulled me in and kept me hooked from the first page! I found this book to be an exciting and unusual read. There are some twists and turns which kept me guessing, and the mystery of the murderer only got deeper as the story progressed. This story has a mixture of humour and horror that intrigued and appalled, but at the same time thoroughly entertained. The end of the story has a HUGE twist (for which I hated the author for - how dare she end it like that!!!) that completely shocked me! I don't normally swear, but I did and went "Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!". I hope there is a sequel, because I would love to know what happened next! If not, the ending is cruel and unusual punishment!

Bonnie Bernard has written another amazing story that is full of eccentric and quirky characters that come alive on the page. She has a sense of humour that can be dark at times, but dry too. I have read her other series, The Midnight Hunter series (and loved it) so I knew that I was going to be highly entertained; She did not disappoint! She is one of my favourite authors!

I highly recommend this book if you love paranormal and/or fantasy genres. - Lynn Worton
