Ally she has reasons to keep it casual. Their romance is not as rough as some of the previous ones but Woowee there are some issues to deal with. Watching them tackle to problems and deal with friends/family had me siting on the edge of my seat, tearing up and cheering.
Steamy ? Oh my girlie bits, it is so steamy. Ren is one fine specimen of Italian hot male. He cooks, cleans, and leaves his girl with a smile multiple times in multiple ways.
The author found a way to sneak her self into the book. I knew these guys had to be real. They are just too good to be made up. How soon can I make a trip to CO ? Rock on mystery writer ! LOL

I have said it before and it still stands I love this sometimes silly over the top series. The men are too macho, the women are too crazy and the animals adorable, and yet it all works to tickle my funny bone and pull my heartstrings every time.
This is Hector's story. The Hispanic Hottie member of the Hot Bunch. Named so by a fabulous side character, Ralphie. *He is the friend everyone should have in their corner. Hector is the man who put Sadie's father in jail. he is also the man she threw herself and it didn't end well. She shows up one day at his office asking for help. the Hot Bunch turns her down only to regret it when she shows up beaten, bloody and sexually abused. His job of trying to protect this Ice Princess from his past becomes complicated by his feeling for her and her other personalities.
Sadie, she is the ultimate Ice Princess. She keeps her armor up at all times, becoming what others expect from a drug dealers daughter. Cold, impersonal, snappish, and distant, and yet secretly she yearns for comfort she can't afford to accept. Her fathers competition is coming for her and there are truly animals bend on making her theirs by force. She wants to run, she wants to hide, she can not keep holding on to her unaffected appearance. These Rock Chicks and Hot Bunch Boys are breaking her cold exterior one chip at a time.
Romantic, oh yeah this Double H, knows how to do it very well. He had me swooning along with Sadie. Warning, it's also a tear jerker, with rape, murder, broken family, and emotional abuse. it does all work out finally with a HEA as all her books in this series do but it has to be earned.
Only one book to go and these loved characters will be history for me. :(

Mace, YEOWZEERS. I knew he'd be a force of sexy bomb plus, but he blew that rating off the charts. Holy Hot Men, every time I think KA can't op one of her Hot Bunch Boys she does it again. I think I might still be smoldering.

Mace, the secretive, macho man of mystery has his soft spot and it is one sexy songstress Stella and her adorable Saint Bernard Juno. This woman is not new to him, he broke her a year ago. Like all the Rock Chicks she finds herself in danger, and guess who rides to the rescue ? He is not a welcome person, he hurt her, the scars still bleed and so does the attraction. So begins the battle for forgiveness, which is a wonderful and very funny thing to read.

Stella is a singer, and the mother hen to a very dysfunctional group of men. She is drowning in her own bubble of self-preservation. She is also afraid of living of putting her neck out there to be chopped off, again. She is in a loop of comfort, where she wants to stay and cuddle with her dog. If only that hot ex lover would go away, her mind knows he must go now. Her body says no, I want him, I WANT HIM.

Juno

Unfortunately, the big bad that wants to hurt the Hot Bunch wants to do it through their woman and Stella has been pegged as Mace's woman. There are bullets, explosions, macho vehicles, blood, and a lot of fear. None of them are safe, every Rock Chick is a target and we see all of the men jump to protect them.

There are some side issues being worked out. Family dramas, babies, weddings, codependency drama...... it all works.

My last thought, KA's men are perfect for this girl.

I struggle with wanting to shake these Rock Chicks into some form of common sense to hoping they will pull out another dumb move.  They have this 'dragon' who is breathing fire down on them and will burn them and maybe everyone they love if they don't stay under the protective Alpha man shield. What do they do ? They squirm under the edge of the shield and boldly go where no sane person would go. Chaos happens, blood is shed, and somehow it always comes out okay. Yes, it is dumb, and yet it works so well in these stories. They are ridiculously fun, sexy and endearing. These are good people, honest, loving, pig headed, silly, and loyal to the end.
