After I was done screaming and freaking out, I wrote up my experience at the MST3K reunion show last night for B&N SciFi.

Timothy O’Neill’s new science fiction book, “Mandala” is an adventure through time, space and one man’s tormented past…
The ultimate fate of human intelligence and the universe itself hangs in precarious balance, and a seemingly inconsequential string of mistakes can send it into irretrievable oblivion; this is something that government scientist, Mick Keogh, is definitely not aware of at the start of this novel. On assignment at a huge, hidden structure out in Montana, named the Compass Rose, Mick quickly realizes that all is not what it may seem. He glimpses his dead wife at a Metro platform. A disliked figure from his past is suspiciously involved in his new project. And then Mick unexpectedly discovers the Compass Rose’s connection to psychological and mythical properties of the symbol of the Mandala, and he must venture to a haunted spot. There he will need to start off on a perilous journey, facing a deadly challenge and discovering the secrets of the Mandala.
I know this isn't related to books, but since I've been treating this like a blog I figured what the hell? If you were ever a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000, then for the love of gawd PICK THIS UP!! This could be my new favorite riff they've done.
For more info, go to http://www.rifftrax.com/vod/psycho-ii, and see for yourself. It'll be the best 10 bucks you'll ever spend. And if you're also a fan of Arrested Development, you'll enjoy it even more as there are a bunch of jokes/references.
Rifftrax is Mike Nelson, Keven Murphy, and Bill Corbett. There are a ton of goodies on their site. The commentary track for The Room is a personal favorite. Along with their riff of the terrible Birdemic.
I'm a long time fan of MST3K (Mystery Science Theater 3000), possibly having something to do with my never finding anything to do on a weekend that was more amusing than watching bad movies with comedians/robot puppets talking back to the screen. Also I have long loved really cheesy movies, especially ones with humans stomping around in monster suits.
It's in progress at the moment, but there's still time to catch the
MST3K Turkey Day Marathon 2013, hosted by Joel!
That's the website link - or you can go to the YouTube link.
Yes, I've been glued to this since I remembered that the Macy's Day Parade never shows enough floats and that I prefer the Rose Parade, yet forget that every single year.
And if you don't have time to watch that, here's my favorite 30 seconds of Gamera doing gymnastics. (Er, not like I know of any other footage of Gamera doing gymnastics.)
