Silly fun
Army Of Darkness/Xena: Forever…And A Day #1 - Scott Lobdell,Elliot Fernandez

This review is for all 6 issues that make up the graphic novel.

I have to admit I knew nothing about Ash (or the Army of Darkness). I looked it up after I finished reading and at least that explained who Ash reminded me of. (Bruce Campbell)

This is a time travel story, and for a while there I was a tad confused as to what was going on. But it was fun trying to work out what was happening. Ash is a ladies man but he never got his leg over because he kept getting hauled back in time by Xena, who is trying to save herself and her girlfriend, Gabrielle, from a hoard of the undead.

The final reveal as to who is causing all the trouble is strange to say the least but by this point I was just hanging on for dear life and enjoying the ride.

Art style is great. Fun and bold.

Xena and Gabrielle are more side characters in this story. The comic (and most of the action) belongs to Ash.

Artemis becomes less annoying
Red Hood and the Outlaws (2016-) #9 - Scott Lobdell,Veronica Gandini,Nicola Scott,Jr., Romulo Fajardo,Dexter Soy

Finding all this out makes her obsession with the Bow of Ra understandable.  Instead of annoying, instead of her seeming to harp at everyone, her seeking the Bow seems honorable, and selfless.

Artemis and her backstory
Red Hood and the Outlaws (2016-) #8 - Scott Lobdell,Dan Brown,Kenneth Rocafort

It doesn't help that I don't really like Artemis, but I found her backstory surprisingly compelling.   Color me surprised.   Lobdell is just knocking it out of the park and he usually doesn't for me, so I'm very happy with this series.

Red Hood contemplates killing Bizarro
Red Hood and the Outlaws (2016-) #7 - Scott Lobdell,Veronica Gandini,Giuseppe Camuncoli,Cam Smith,Dean White,Mirko Colak

This was a far more touching issue than I expected, and more than I expected from this author.   I'm really into Jason Todd lately, and this just did it for me.  I, unsurprisingly, tend to like issue that really focus on him, and this did.

And that last scene!
