The Sweetest Taboo, all stand alone books only connected by the taboo trope. So it's been a while since I've read erotica like this. I enjoyed it, the story was nice the characters were pleasant and it was really hot. Now I know if I need good erotica I can count on Stacy Reid. My only issue is I didn't like the ending, it was way to easy, I personally would have been happier without the epilogue. Third person POV that switches focus between Oliver and Lily. I loved the voyeurism and meeting in complete anonymity and being oblivious to that fact that they already know each other.     

Oliver Carlyle, Marquess of Ambrose, is ready to find himself a wife but he has certain requirements that aren't usual things to look for in a wife. For one he has no plans ever to take a mistress so his wife must be able to handle the dark erotic things he likes. He knows it's going to difficult but not impossible. During a house party, thrown by his mother in hopes he finds his future wife there, he finds a diary, in this diary are the most scandalous and erotic thoughts of a young widow. Determined to find out the owner of the diary and hopefully make her his wife especially since in the diary she mentions her attraction to him.

Lily Layton is a widow twice over and just at the age of 25, she went to work as a companion to the Marquess Ambrose's mother. She never expected to be noticed never expected her sexual fantasies to come true she only wished that one day her dreams of designing dresses would come true. But her life took a different turn when her diary went missing. Dealing with social standings and expectations and blowing those out of the water by following your heart. This book is emotional at times when it comes to a secret Lily is hiding from Oliver that just may end the romance.

Overall, it was an enjoyable erotic romance. I almost wish it was a tad bit more lighthearted, the beginning and the middle were really erotic; nice and hot really good but toward the end it got serious and just kind of killed the mood. The whole epilogue it was so typical with as serious as the topic of infertility got I wish she stayed true to that path. 
   

Honestly this had some potential and at the end of Book 2 I was quite intrigued by where this was headed. Unfortunately between episodes it was almost like the author changed his mind on where to take the story and this happened between every single episode.  Overall it was just all over the place and I never got a sense I understood anyone EVER...much less what would drive any of these people to do what they were doing.  

Add to that...my heavens the editing got worse with every book.  Quite disappointing.

Definite potential but lost its edge and its direction too many times to fully enjoy.

So this was not your typical Taboo read.  This was just an absolutely beautiful story about two brothers, alone and learning to cope in a world without their parents.  This is not over erotic but a slow discovery of a love between brothers.  Yeah, I get this is not something everyone enjoys but it is a taboo that I love...and this one in particular is by far the best I have read.

I was worried that the outcome of what occured on Halloween would cause me to be a little irritated, but I have to say this played out even better than I expected.  And the further storylines surrounding Levi I did not anticipate at all. 

The photography aspects of this story worked beautifully and captured what no doubt many twin lovers like me want to see but perhaps is not always captured on film.  Like with Haydem and Raul Guerra Liranza (https://www.instagram.com/official_guerratwins/?hl=en), these brothers show their lives and their relationship through images. Good heavens, this page is just beautiful.  As in the story, the photographs begin to capture a rawness.  It is Kane, who's vulnerability and raw emotions are captured to move his audience in a way that creates emotion.  That is the true beauty of art and I felt it was captured amazingly well here.

The three photos were arranged as I had instructed, with the two shorter ones hanging to either side of the longer central one, shaping a kind of black and white arrowhead pointing to the ground. To the left was a close-up of Levi and I, arms framing each other’s head as we stared into each other’s eyes. The central one was a full-body shot, with me standing like some kind of Greek god, with Levi on his knees, staring up at me with worshiping eyes. Only the look in my eyes was just as full of worship, just as brimming with adoration. The line of the photo drew down, along my arm and hand, reaching for his face, caressing it, as his hands drew the eye upward to my chest, where he pressed his palms. The third photo was another close-up. The two of us intertwine in one another, my eyes half-lidded and Levi’s gaze trained on my mouth where he held up a hand, his fingers playing on my lips, drawing them open. He looked as though he was about to kiss me, as though I was about to devour him, which wasn’t far from the truth.

As I said, this type of romance is not for everyone but it completely works for me. There is truly no one in the world with a closer connection than I feel twins have.  Taboo or not, this is raw and beautiful.  **Highly Recommended**
