There are some good parts to the book and some not so good. I wouldn't describe this book as sexy although there is a lot of sex and orgasms in it.
Best I can say, is try it for yourself. You might like it.
My name is Angel, and I live on Nugene Station. My days are filled with doctor's tests, but I spend my nights dancing in zero G, or in the arms of my secret lover, Carver Liddell.
Nugene is the sole outpost orbiting Jupiter where specially engineered human clones are bred for sale to The Gran, a fierce alien race of Cats. The treaty between humanity and the Cats guarantees a constant supply of worker drones.
I am not a worker drone. I am something else. I am the untapped potential of the human genome. I am the next step in human evolution.
The Cats finally noticed me, they know I am special. Now they want me. They want to breed me. Silly Cats, don't they know clones are sterile?
Nugene is only the beginning of my story.
I am really on the fence about this one. I am partial to Luedke's work and Concubine was great very detailed but I had two main issues with this first installment to the 6.0 series.
One, it was way too short. It was only 70 plus pages. Two, there could have been so much more development to this story.
Don't get me wrong as an erotica the sex scenes are great but I wanted more background development, wanted more history, wanted more emotional exploration, wanted more from the characters, I just wanted more all around.
Even though Luedke touches on some of these things they felt fairly brief considering how much page time the breeding scenes got. I'm not sure if this was done on purpose because Angel is a clone and wanted to give a sort of numbing effect or not really being a part of the environment or something but for whatever reason I didn't get that usual total exploration emotional roller coaster that typically comes with Luedke's writing. I still enjoyed reading the story over all but I hope for more in future installments.

Aaron Pilan’s life is forever changed when he’s shot trying to rescue a drop-dead gorgeous woman on the streets of New York. Aaron is thrust into the shocking world of vampiric slavery when Michelle shares her blood to save his life.
Michelle's existence as a solitary vampire is also altered when she accepts this naive young man into her life. Bound by her blood, Aaron is subject to her authority. He walks a tightrope of strictly controlled feeding regiments and intense sexual adventures while catering to the neurotic control-freak tendencies of his new master. She vows to eliminate him if he proves too difficult to control.
This story is bold and evocative, infusing blood, sex, love and turmoil in an urban drama about two vampires battling evil outside and within themselves.
My Review:
I love this cover. I really love this cover. Luedke always has the best covers every time. How gorgeous is it? Have you looked at the cover? Seriously. I love this cover. Have I said how much I love this cover?
New York is the best installment of the Nightlife. I absolutely love Michelle, I love her spunk, I love her depth... Every cast member in these books stands out as bright individuals as well as really fantastic support players. I love the plot, and intensity, I love the thrilling excitement, I love it all. I love everything about this book.
I can't get enough of these books Luedke pens wonderful well detailed worlds and cast members that pull you in from page one. New York is fun, its sexy, and its a thrill ride of hot romance and a fun discovery on how to stand in their world and be a part of it both on their own and together. Its fun, its beautiful, and its unique above other supernatural thriller romances I read. Luedke is fantastic.

He ruined her career. She locked him in chastity.
Deep undercover, a mission to take down an international trafficking ring leads Jenna Tayler into the dark side of sexual slavery — an exclusive conspiracy selling wealthy women retribution for their wayward men. To infiltrate the Kabas operation, she’s forced to turn against her fellow agent, Ryan Crichten.
Maddeningly arrogant. British. Sexy alpha male. Ryan signed up for any mission, whatever the cost, but his reactions to being abducted must ring true or Jenna’s cover is blown. Everything Jenna learned about safe, sane and consensual is scrapped. To keep Ryan alive and maintain cover, she must force him into submission.
She’ll do whatever it takes, but he’s not making the job easy.
Ryan believes Jenna to be CIA, on assignment to London. She catches his eye and throws him off-balance, but she’s in way over her head. When he pulls her off the team — for her own protection — she abducts him. The woman’s gone off the deep end, hell bent on subjecting him to constant sexual frustration. His elite spy training never prepared him for sensual torture, and the mixed signals from Jenna confuse the hell out of him.
She’s hiding something, and not just the key to his manhood.
My Review:
I thought this book was really well written however I didn't particularly care for the position that Ryan was put in. That really affected the way I felt about the over all story and the relationship as well as the sex. While some will enjoy the excitement of the underlining plot I need the man on top and in control of these situations.

After decades of war, the Qui Empress ushers in a new era when she takes a human tribute as her price for a peace treaty with Earth. She orders the surrender of all human prisoners of war.
Butchered and broken, Raiss Tyrone has escaped his K’lahn captors and is running for his life. The arrival of a Qui warship in orbit sparks an intense man hunt. A K’lahn garrison is out in force, chasing him down. His only hope is a strange, insecure half-breed woman, part human, part K’lahn.
Crendea has never come to terms with her shape shifting affliction, a genetic aberration from her K’lahn father. She lives with the shame, terrified of exploring the full extent of her heritage. Now a single look from Raiss Tyrone, lust in his eye, and her sparkling lizard scaling bursts forth. His delicious scent and warm touch ripples a terrifying change across her body, and neither of them are prepared for the genetic frenzy they are about to unleash.
This sexy romance tale is the third story in a collection inspired by Under By Treaty, a science fiction romance in Kayla Stonor’s Surrender collection. Each tale in the Qui Treaty Collection is a standalone short story or novella set in the Qui galactic empire, with annihilation of mankind held at bay only through the Treaty consummated between the Qui Empress and the human consort abducted under its terms.
My Review:
I think this series has really only gotten better with each new installment. I still would like more of the political structure and exploration and a more in depth journey into all the bases of why its being done but you get some light mentions here and there. Most of all this series is character driven and the characters do a fantastic job of carrying the weight of a story that could otherwise be too burdened by its intensity.
Stonor who risks exploring some sensitive topics reaches into her readers emotions by opening her casts wounds and inner minds while trying to find some sense of healing in their journey.
I really enjoy her work and so far has easily become a social discussion favorite among my reading group.
