The Hero's Companion by Amy Lignor
The Hero's Companion (Tallent & Lowery) (Volume 3) - Amy Lignor

Title: The Hero's Companion
Author: Amy Lignor
Source: Review Copy
Rating: 5 Stars

Synopsis:

Leah Tallent and Gareth Lowery have seen it all. From walking the halls of an eerie house that held clues to one of the biggest puzzles in history; to going up against literal madmen in order to save a relic that could alter the world, the Tallent and Lowery team have had to utilize everything they had to survive.

Now . . . Leah’s father has gone missing. They have only seven days before he will be killed, and the only clue to follow is a picture of one of the most famous icons of all time. Heading to her hometown, Leah begins her search for anything that will point her in the right direction. But all she finds is a mother who has fallen apart, talking about things that Leah doesn’t understand. Discovering a strange map stuck to the bottom of her father’s desk, Leah and Gareth are joined by a young woman who has a secret all her own. Teaming up, the trio must solve this new mystery that will take them from the pinnacle of the Acropolis to the depths of Cleopatra’s caves in order to unmask the man who has a definite score to settle.

This frightening adversary will do his best to capture Leah and take her far away from the protection and love of Gareth. In a location that’s been buried under rock and dirt for centuries the battle will begin, and the team will have to face the one foe that will expose secrets and unleash unheard of power in order to get what he wants. As it was with the mighty Athena, Leah is seen as ‘The Hero’s Companion’—the one woman who will do anything to make sure the right side wins. But without Gareth, her time may just run out.

My Thoughts

Discover the impossible with Leah and Gareth.

The author once again does an amazing job setting up the mysteries and leaving just enough hints and clues along the way to keep you guessing. I was enthralled by the exotic locations. I really enjoyed discovering new secrets along the way.

Most of all I enjoyed reading more about Leah and Gareth. Throughout the book we get to see as their relationship grows even further and even gets tested along the way. Everyone has secrets and Gareth's just may tear them apart.

I also really liked finding out more about Leah's father. They have a very interesting relationship and I really enjoyed seeing the different dynamics within it. Their interactions with one another were interesting as well and definitely brought out a lot of drama and turmoil.

New characters also brought a lot of drama as well. Especially, the new woman in the group. She is full of secrets and teaming up with her could either help them or destroy them.

Let us travel with Leah and Gareth on another fun filled adventure!

The Sapphire Storm - Amy Lignor The dynamic duo is back and better than ever in “The Sapphire Storm”!After enduring a long journey that ended in them going up against a man who believed he was a Devil you wouldn’t think anything could scare the charismatic Gareth Lowery. However, in this newest installment he will be faced with an even greater challenge, meeting the parents. The banter between Leah and Gareth never ceases to amaze me and I highly enjoyed seeing him handle Leah’s parents. Leah had her hands full dealing with Gareth and was as sarcastic as ever. I loved this duo and was ecstatic to see how they handled this newest challenge. There was of course plenty action and enough mystery to keep me satisfied, especially when we find out about the trouble Gareth’s sister has come up against. I was also very glad to find out a bit more about Leah. The new arrival that seems to have a lot in common with Leah definitely made things interesting. With a new mystery to solve and loves ones lives at stake this thrilling new story was every bit as gripping as the first if not more so.I would highly recommend the story of this amazing duo to all those who love a great mystery and some thrilling action!

13 (Tallent & Lowery, #1) - Amy Lignor 13 (Tallent & Lowery, #1) - Amy Lignor A fantastic adventure that will have you hooked from page 1.I loved 13! It was written beautifully with nice descriptions that made you feel like you were there with Gareth and Leah. The story was fast paced and had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out the different clues and where their journey would take them next! It reminded me a little of National Treasure. I really enjoyed the fact that there was something new to discover around every corner both about the characters and the artifacts that they were seeking. Okay Leah is a great character that I would love to be friends with, but I am extremely jealous of her. I mean come on she is brilliant and gets to hang around books all day, what could be better? As cool as she is though she does have some things to learn and goes through some personal growth in this book. I liked that she could be vulnerable at times too because it made her human and more relatable. I loved her banter with Gareth they are a fantastic team, even if they do get on each other’s nerves from time to time.Gareth is quirky and brilliant in his own right. I really liked him and his crazy schemes. I found that he could be quite charming when he wanted to be. There was definitely some crazy chemistry between him and Leah. What I liked most about the relationship between these two is that it was so natural. It wasn’t perfect by any means and they knew it, but they genuinely loved each other and knew that true love takes courage and patience. I loved the banter between Leah and Gareth and felt that they were a great team. I can’t wait to see what other adventures these two get involved in future books!
