Reading progress update: I've listened 148 out of 148 minutes.
Binti - Nnedi Okorafor,Robin Miles

Yeah, I'm still not thrilled with how this one wrapped up. Sure, let's be friends with the being who was involved in the brutal murder of hundreds of people at the beginning of the story, and who modified Binti's body without her knowledge or full consent. Everything's fine and forgiven.

I've read this before, but this is my first time listening to the audiobook. My rating for the paper book was 2 stars due to my intense disappointment with the turn the story took and the way it wrapped up, and I doubt my feelings will change even with a good narrator, but I might tackle the rest of the series via audiobook. I'm surprised my public library not only has all of them in audio, but also in e-book form.

Post-surgery TBR
Binti - Nnedi Okorafor
Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way - Bruce Campbell
Strange the Dreamer - Laini Taylor
The Exorcist - William Peter Blatty

So this is what I have settled on to read while I heal. Two are y'alls suggestions, and two are my own. I will be in the hospital Tuesday to probably Thursday. There is a chance I could be sent home Wednesday but I'm not holding my breath on that. I'm taking my Kindle so that I have a ton of options if I don't like what I'm trying to read. Here's to my journey!

Review: Binti: The Night Masquerade
Binti: The Night Masquerade - Nnedi Okorafor

What an amazing finish to the series.  Betrayal, secrets, new alien species, living spaceships that give birth to baby living spaceships.  There are battles, deaths...just everything you want in a fantasy/scifi series.

I very much enjoyed Binti's character arc, as well as Okwu, there is even a both of growth from Binti's family and best friend.  What I enjoyed about the ending, is that while it is an ending, it's also a beginning.  And while I would definitely read another book in this series, there is a clear ending.

Excellent, colorful, descriptive writing.  I look forward to reading more from the author!

There was no way it was going to be so easy. The proverbial crap just hit the fan!
