Review: Caveman Aliens Series (Book 1 – 6) by Calista Skye
Caveman Alien's Ransom: A SciFi BBW/Alien Fated Mates Romance - Calista Skye
Caveman Alien's Mate - Calista Skye
Caveman Alien's Rage - Calista Skye
Caveman Alien's Pride - Calista Skye
Caveman Alien's Trap: A SciFi Alien Fated Mates Romance - Calista Skye
Caveman Alien's Secret: A SciFi Alien Fated Mates Romance - Calista Skye

This is a combined review for Books 1 through 6 in the Caveman Aliens series by Calista Skye

Someone suggested I give this series a try. It’s on Kindle Unlimited and since I had a free subscription at the time I gave it a go. It wasn’t bad. It’s a silly alien sci-fi romance that you can read in a day. Not much plot or substance to it. Sometimes you just need something silly and with no substance to read.

The books are an alien abduction survival type read. The books are all a little bit silly. They are slow moving in parts and a bit choppy.

The concept of the Jurassic planet was interesting. It’s a planet with dinosaurs, weird bugs, plants, and Caveman. Their are no women on this planet.

When the series starts we meet several different women who are all College age students working on a project when some aliens come to earth and kidnapped women only. Those aliens that kidnapped the women end up crash landing on this Jurassic plant. The women are trying their best to survive on this Jurassic planet and soon learn they aren’t alone.

The romance in each book is very quick. Each women ends up being kidnapped by a different kind of Caveman. They pretty much fall fast and the sex is hot and primal. These Caveman end up take the women back to their tribes and we soon learn that not all the men in the tribes are good. Most of the men want to capture and force the women into being breeders aka sex slaves or the Caveman want to kill them to complete this prophecy to bring back The Women.

As the series goes on we learn their is a small underline plot on how these Caveman came to be on this Jurassic planet and what their purpose is or was.

In book five we get a brief recap of what has happened so far. This is where we learn about the underlining plot and find more women are alive and have been trapped on this star shaped land island due to a Dragon like creature.

In book six we learn why and how the Caveman came to be on this plant and their weird belief system. I didn’t care for book six. This is where I became all Caveman’d out. The issue I had with, six, was how slutty Delyah became. I get the weird water makes them lower their inhibitions, but this was over the top.

One thing that really frustrated me in this series was that each women even after they found their Caveman lover they still think they can get home. After 10 months wouldn’t it come to your mind that you aren’t getting home. Even if you do find another spaceship… How are you going to fly it?

As far as things go. The Caveman Aliens series was just ok.

Rated: 3/2 Stars

Fall (Hold, #3) by Claire Kent Review
Fall (Hold Book 3) - Claire Kent

As a pilot and a smuggler, Lenna has spent her life flying under the radar in Coalition space--taking care of herself, not relying on anyone. She's always liked it that way.

But now she's stranded without any resources on a stone-age planet, and the only way to survive is to hook up with a bunch of cavemen. She'll do whatever she needs to do in order to survive in their world--even if it means letting one of them take her as a mate.

She doesn't expect to like it. Or like him. Or lose her heart in the process.

Review

For many people, this might be a guilty pleasure read. Caveman Alien. Yeah.

I have no guilt. Well, a little guilt for the heavy handed simple living rejecting a life with more agency but then getting agency in the choice stuff but other than that.... no guilt!

I love language barriers and cultural adaptation romance. Some really fun world building here and I believe the love story. I can see this become a silly comfort read.

Short and spicy!
Caveman: A Short Story with Many Happy Endings - A.C. Rose

Caveman by A.C. Rose is I believe, the first book I've read where there were no actual names...he was Caveman and she was Baby through the whole story.  This is a cute short story about an older woman/younger man couple.  There is plenty of steam, humor and fun.  This is a quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading.  I enjoyed this book and would be happy to read more from A.C. Rose in the future.   Caveman is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily reviewed an Instafreebie copy of this book.

The Caveman by Jørn Lier Horst
The Caveman (William Wisting Mystery) - Jorn Lier Horst

Only three houses away from the policeman’s home, a man has been sitting dead in front of his television set for four months. There are no indications that anything criminal has taken place.

Viggo Hansen was a man nobody ever noticed, even though he lived in the midst of a close-knit community. His death doesn’t hit the headlines, but there is something about the case that catches the attention of William Wisting’s journalist daughter, Line, and she decides to write a newspaper article with a different twist for the festive season: the portrait of a completely anonymous and obscure person whose death goes unremarked and unmourned.

While Line embarks on her investigations, the police are notified about another death. A male corpse has been found in a forest clearing, and it appears that he has lain there for quite some time. An extremely unexpected discovery on the dead body triggers one of the most extensive manhunts in Norwegian police history. The only thing that can hinder the police in their work, is the media finding out what’s brewing.

**********

The first book I read in this series was book Ordeal (book 10), so it was quite natural for me to read the previous book in the series since reading in opposite order is my thing apparently. Also, I wanted to know more about Line and her relationship with the FBI agent and more about the house that she had bought in book 10. So, reading this book felt like the right thing while I wait for book 11 to be translated into Swedish.

And, as with the previous book was this book just as entertaining to read (or in this case listening to at work and reading at home). The story is interesting, with the finding of both the dead man in the house and the dead man in a forest clearing. Could these cases have something in common? But, the old man in the house dead a natural death ...or did he? The questions are many, and the book doesn't give away any answer too soon and I enjoyed listening/reading the book as the everything slowly unraveled.

I'm quite fond of this series, despite having only read two books. I especially like that The Caveman doesn't only focus on William Wisting, but also follow his daughter Line as she is writing about the dead man in the house. I like this father & daughter "team".

This book was especially interesting with FBI traveling to Norway since there seems to be an American serial killer loose in Norway. A killer that has been hiding out for decades and who hasn't stopped killing. It felt like a fresh idea, and I quite enjoyed reading about the Norwegian police working with FBI to track down a serial killer.

The Caveman was a good book and I look forward to reading the rest book the books in the series!

Monster Porn Monday ~ Book 1
Paleolithic Passion (Bound by the Caveman) - Emma Clark

*Book source ~ Free on Amazon

When Glory’s mate doesn’t return from his hunt and the other males start getting ideas about her and her new defenseless situation, Glory packs up some supplies and sneaks off in hopes of finding her mate. Instead she finds someone else entirely.

This doesn’t exactly fall into monster porn territory, but I already read it so here ya go. It’s more like two different species of man during the Paleolithic Period or as I like to say, Caveman Times. It strongly reminded me of Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel. I wonder if the author is a fan? Anyway, Glory runs away because she’s afraid of what will happen to her with her mate gone. She passes out from hypothermia and finds herself at the mercy of some other kind of human. One who is an enemy to her kind. Glory likes being tied up and ravished by her savior. He also takes care of her. So, this is like prehistoric BDSM. Writing is ok, but I totally hated the cliffhanger ending. And they were literally on a cliff. Wtf?
