Inhalt: Mia Corvere kennt nur ein Ziel: Rache. Als sie noch ein kleines Mädchen war, haben die Mächtigen des Reiches ihren Vater als Verräter an der Itreyanischen Republik hinrichten und ihre Mutter einkerkern lassen. Mia selbst wurde unter fremdem Namen vom alten Mercurio großgezogen. Mercurio ist jedoch kein gewöhnlicher Bürger der Republik, er bildet Attentäter für einen Assassinenorden aus, die Rote Kirche. Und Mia ist auch kein gewöhnliches Kind, sie ist eine Dunkelinn: Seit der Nacht, in der ihre Familie zerstört wurde, wird sie von einer Schattenkatze begleitet. Um ihre Ausbildung abzuschließen, muss Mia sich auf den Weg zur geheimen Enklave der Roten Kirche machen, wo sie eine gefährliche Prüfung erwartet..
Meine Bewertung: Meine hohen Erwartungen wurden total übertroffen!!!
Ich weiß garnicht wie lange ich jetzt schon ein Auge auf das Buch geworfen habe, aber ich habe mich nie wirklich dran getraut, weil ich durch den ganzen Hype viel zu hohe Erwartungen hatte. Nie im Leben hätte ich gedacht, dass meine Erwartungen so übertroffen werden könnten. Nie.
Die Story an sich ist einfach großartiges.
Rache. Assaissinen. Was will man mehr? (Einiges, dazu komm ich gleich)
Die Charaktere waren einfach großartig. Ich liebe Mia als Hauptcharakter. Sie ist einfach (warte drauf) großartig. Ich mag einfach alles an ihr, natürlich hat sie mich manchmal frustriert aber der Mensch, in einer fiktionalen Welt, genauso wie in der realen Welt, der mich nicht irgendwann einmal frustriert, muss erst noch erfunden werden.
Und die Nebencharaktere waren auch einfach nur total kasse. Ich mochte es einfach wie vielschichtig und unterschiedlich sie alle waren. Besonders hat es mir ja Herr Freundlich angetan, obwohl ich nicht der Katzenfreund bin aber er ist ja schließlich auch eine Nichtkatze LOL
Das Setting für die Story war wirklich auch einfach nur (willst du es wirklich schon wieder schreiben?) großartig!!! Ich liebe solche Fantasy Schulen einfach unheimlich gerne, da ist der Unterricht um so vielen mehr interessanter aber eindeutig auch gefährlicher.
Der Schreibstil war klasse. Ich mochte auch total den Sprecher von dem Hörbuch.
Alles in Allem hat das Buch mich wirklich total überzeugt und während ich das Buch beendet habe, konnte ich es schon kaum erwarten es nochmal zu lesen. Als nächstes geht es aber erst zu Band 2, aber erst wenn ich mich ein bisschen von dem großen Verrat erholt habe, falls ich jemals darüber hinweg komme.

My review: My very high expectations got exceeded!!!
I don't even know how long I have kept an eye on this book but I never really dared actually getting to it, the whole hype was just insane. Never in a million years would I have thought that my high expectations would be exceeded. NEVER.
The story was awesome
Revenge. Assassins. What more can you ask for? (A few things that I will talk about right now)
The characters were awesome. I just love Mia as a main character. She is truly (wait for it) awesome. I just love everything about her, of course sometimes she really frustrated me but the person, in a fictional and in the real world, that doesn't annoy me at times, has yet to be 'invented'.
And the side characters were just amazing as well. I just love how multilayered and different from each other they all were. I especially loved Mister Kindly, even though I'm not a catlover but he's a non-cat anyways LOL
The setting of the whole story was just really (do you really wanna write this again) awesome!!! I just love fantasy schools so damn much, the classes are just lots more interesting but also so much more dangerous.
The writing was amazing. I also truly enjoyed the speaker of the audiobook.
All in all the book hit all the right spots and even while still listening to it, I couldn't wait to relisten/rereading this one again soooon. Next up I'm gonna dive into the second book, tho, but first I need to get over the big betrayel, IF I ever get over it.
